Excpecting too much?

As i read topics about Galactic Adventures and its mission creators one thing strikes me. People are putting the bar about what you can do with the mission creator very high. I see people saying

Road trip: take a band round a world playing concerts at each of the cities, each one that likes the show gives you money and you do the whole planet you get a special prize

A species has discovered that they have a colony established very close to what seems to be a mega volcano. The species explains that the volcano is due to erupt any time, and it has been showing signs of impending explosive activity. The player would need to find the volcano, like finding artifacts. Then the player would need to stop it by cooling the surface around it. The species has an idea that may work, but they need your help. An icy asteroid steered directly at the volcano would cause quite an explosion, but the pressure would be relieved, and the area cooled down a great deal. The problem is that no icy asteroids are nearby. The player would be asked to fly to a nearby system that the species' astronomers have found which seems to have several icy asteroids, and somehow steer the asteroid toward the system/planet in question. The player would need to fly to the nearby system, and locate an ideal icy asteroid, then use the ship's laser to propel it out of that system, and toward the system that it needs to go to. Then the player would fly back to the planet in danger, without zooming to the surface, and use the abduction beam to guide it toward the planet. *the game would auto steer the asteroid from one system to the other, and would auto guide it to the correct spot. The player could then zoom in and witness the explosion. The player would then get an incoming message and the reward. OR, the player could just decline the mission, and watch the carnage unfold

Attack from the Lawlcats

-difficulty: hard
-allies: Loldog and Lolbird empires
-enemies: Lolcat and Lolrabbit empires
-Objectives:

1. Eliminate Lolrabbit support camps while protecting Lolbird camps
2. Get in your ship or some good AA and shoot down Lolrabbits chasing Lolbird gatherer ships
3. Defend Icanhashotdog from Lolcat attack forces
4. Attack Lolcat advance camps
5. Eliminate AP spacecraft with The AS Missile turrents at Icanhashotdog and Loldog AS camps
6. Defend main Lolbird camp (Icanhascracker)
7. Destroy main Lolrabbit camp (Icanhascarrot)
8. Defend Icanhashotdog
9. Destroy Lolcat city (Icanhascheesburger)

See what i mean? be realistic people! just because it says you can make your own game doesn't mean you will be ables to do whatever your hearts please! We got our hopes up for spore and BAM! the forums filled with people saying they were mislead about what you could do. I'm just saying

Well, we already have reviews and videos that say what you can do with the Adventure editor, and those examples all fit more or less within what we know the expansion is capable of.

I agree that yeah, we shouldn't get our hopes up, but I think the "go here", "kill these", "get this item" style quests are pretty much guaranteed. Plus, we can have dialogue, we can edit creature behaviour and make simple cutscenes.

I think we'll be okay.

I think that its good that people have such an overthetop vision. Without a lofty goal, amazing things cannot be achieved. You cannot succeed if you dont try. Think of spore itself, for example. Had you heard of it several years ago (like i did) it probably sounded too good to be true. But, with high expectations and goals, spore can continue to be improved and hightened. GA will be fine.

but you could probably still make those, but it wont be exactly what was in mind...

The cooling ray would just probable get it to a cirtain point in the temprature, kind of like a t-score of 3 from 2 sort of thing when it is two hot. The asteroids will just be a gog to planet, abduct "Icy Asteroid" then drop "Icy Asteroid" in city for them to use. (all from what is in the game CURRENTLY (You know, at the begining you take the diseased animal and put it into the city))

No Ashoc i was saying that when it comes out they will sue EA because they thought it will be MUCH better than it is.

I agree with you... Be realistic!!!

With the Spore Galactic Adventures you will not "develop" a very complex Adventure. It's a Point and Click Editor with a limited number of possibilities... Not more...

Unfortunately we hype the extension... in the same manner, like we hyped the game SPORE ...

It wouldn't surprise me if someone did try. Americans sue for anything these days. The reason it says "Caution: Contents Hot" on the side of McDonalds coffee is because they got sued by somebody who was amazed that coffee is hot. Bloody idiots everywhere
