They're just close. Not suspicion worthy, as they are quite far though.

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

I decided my old idea was kind of unworkable. I'll go for something more simple.

Name of Race: Citari
Color of the Race: Violet, if possible.
Description/picture: The Citari are, essentially, humanoid; they have two legs, two arms, a torso, and a head, all in the expected places. They are taller, generally, that humans; in fact, Citari exist that tower twice as tall as the average human, although that would be on the upper end. They are, however, not proportional to a human. Their legs make up most of their height; long, stalk-like legs that are jointed not unlike a dogs, with a forward bending, very high up joint, a backwards bending knee closer to the center on the side of the ground, and another joint much closer to the ground, the ankle. Each joint is double-jointed, and when running or stabilizing themselves, the Citari get very close to the ground, becoming about human sized (as the legs fold). Their arms have similar, multiple joints, with each hand having eight very long, very agile, and very slender fingers, capable of grasping many different objects at the same time and even working independently. When they are walking close to the ground, their arms reach down and are often used in running. Their head has two very long ears, folded like a cats, and a single, large eye, which can vary in color from red to deeper purples and even to blue; they are apparently a single color and have no pupils. Their mouth is a single, sharp-toothed band that rings below their eye. Citari grow soft, downy fur on their hips (which protrude from their torso), shoulders, and down the back of their torso and neck. The front of their torso and their legs and arms and face are uncolored, snow-white skin. Fur can range in color from white to black, but rarely does it have any color outside of grayscale. It takes a great deal of grace to balance on their legs and manipulate their odd assortment of joints, and for this reason the movement of a Citari may be considered quite delicate and dignified, but this is a contrast with their giant, featureless eye and lanky proportions.
Biology: Their proportionately small torso contains most of their vital organs, including a large part of their brain (which controls automatic functions and most vital systems). The rest of their brain is in the head. Citari have a very powerful heart, which pumps clear blood around their body. Otherwise, their biology is quite normal, with the exception of two things; Citari are nocturnal by nature, and thus, they have excellent night vision and their skin and eyesight are easily damaged by bright sunlight. Secondly, Citari react to toxin in a very specific way. Citari can survive in conditions of great toxicity, and even ingest highly poisonous substances, due to a special organ that has a similar function to the liver. They can do this to incredibly amounts, but it comes with a downside. Citari need to eventually get the toxin out of their system, as they aren't capable of slowly ridding themselves of it. To do this, their body goes into a 'detox' period, which, depending on the amount of toxin, can be anywhere from once a month to once a decade, but which usually falls to once a year. This process is incredibly painful; while it is happening (it can take weeks, but is usually over in less than 48 hours) Citari cannot eat, moving is a great strain, and their vision is clouded by red. They will spend most of their time screaming. Afterwords, they are free of the toxins, and can continue their lives. All Citari are hermaphroditic.
Culture: Citari call themselves 'Moon-stalkers' (the meaning of Citari) because, due to their nocturnal behaviors and their pure, snow-white skin, they believe and always have believed that they have a deep connection to the moon. While not necessarily a religion, this is the entirety of Citari spiritualism; they will believe that the moon is their parent, or that the moon is a place from which they came. They will pray to the moon, sing about the moon, and they believe that they owe a great debt to the moon, or, alternately, that they wronged the moon and must atone before they can return to it. The ambiguities in the story are not because there is a difference in opinion, it is because of the Citari language; Parent is the same as Home, and the word for both also means Moon. Similarly with Repay and Repent; both are the same, and both also can be used to refer to the Moon. It's also important to note that the Citari's ideas about parenthood are quite simple; there is only one parent, the one who carried you. Thus, family is quite distinct, because you are the son of one person, who was the son of one person, ect. While ancestry is important, however, Citari are generally not family-central, but rather, form groups later based on who gets along best, and are then bound to those groups by name.
Starting location: Hm....
Form of government: Citari government is a government based around the groups that Citari naturally form (what they have that is closest to family besides their parent). These groups generally decide their own interests, but if something comes up that affects everyone, a leading group will decide for everyone else. It isn't organized, nor is it particularly watertight; many times the leading group has decided wrong, been told to change their opinion, said no, and then been run out of the tribe so a more favorable group can come along and take the decision. The exception to this rule of the groups would be that there are experts in certain things (hunting, fishing, moving with herds) who's word will generally be taken without a group needing to make the decision.
Citari justice is simple; if you wronged your own group, they must judge your crime. If you wronged another group, both your group and the other must judge, with the final verdict being given to the wronged group. The penalty for anything serious is being beaten to death with stones by the wronged group, and beatings (not severe enough to kill) can also be used for less serious things. Banishment is also popular, to the point where lone-traveling Citari aren't all that rare.

DW, accepted. You detailed their biology and culture alot, and I appreciate this effort. So, where do you want to start?

Everyone: Starting from now, one page will represent one month.
But now, we must decide how long lasts a month(in days), and if one page is one single instant in the month, or if we can change the moment during the page, for example in the middle. I added a new section to the OP, which concerns how things happen within the RP, such as time passing. So as we decide such things, I will add new rules in that section.

I'll also change the poll to the duration of the year.

Concerning the Vurmi Aldus and Plurrimi Validus, even if he did inspire himself from the name, there would be no reason to complain. You should even take it as a compliment if it was the case, which I doubt.

Arnie, by the way, you shouldn't have posted IC. You have to wait for two posts before posting another research post of yours. If you want to become a mod, try to know the rules first!
I won't ask you to erase it, but please don't do that again in the future.

I have no idea on the duration part of a month. I say a number like 28 or 30.

Thank you for accepting me. I suppose it doesn't matter really where I start.... maybe here?

As for time: I voted ten months (nice round number), and I'd say it should be up to people when in the month they decide to set their posts, so long as there's never any conflict caused by it. As for days in a month, I'd say they should be a small amount longer than ours, say, 35 or 40 days.

Of course, that's a solar calendar. My people would, for obvious reasons, be using a lunar one. I can still keep track of the solar date, of course.

I voted twelve. It insures each season gets a good amount.

And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. True that. Although we could have five seasons, or just two.

Ah. So, rather, 3 months per season is what I vote. The real poll for me would be how many we get.
I say either 4 or 5. The fifth could be a sort of flood season, after summer or spring.

Yes, we could have 5 seasons. In the Ijjin-sat valley, there are heavy floods at the end of spring, which isn't called spring, you can guess.

As for the days in a month, I don't really know. Anything between 15 to 40 days would be acceptable.

Concerning the map, DW, I hope you don't mind if I change the shape of your land slightly. You currently have a bit too much land, and I have to add the Citari to the legend anyways.

Edit: I edited the map and posted it. DW, you can check the OP to see if it suits you.

Of course I don't mind at all.

EDIT: Yes, that's perfect. I was trying to show that there was a river there, but that's not particularly important, so long as I know it and anyone who tries to get to the city knows it.

I'd still say that ten months per year, with each month being longer, would be a better alternative. Or, perhaps, in preparation for any speedup we do later, we should have fifteen months a year. That also goes well with a five-season year.

Seasons, are, however, highly geographical, and so they wouldn't have as much of an importance in recording.

I agree for the seasons. I can add a river if you want. I'll edit the map right now.

15 months would also go well, true.

But we still need to decide for the number of days in a month.

Edit: I added the river.

Perhaps the most common amount is 27 or so to 30, and the least common is 20 or so to 25.

Why have a different number of days in months? That makes no sense.
