Does it have to be mailed or is there some e-mail, and second, I thought it ended on the first of February, what happened with that?

No email. You have to do paper mail.

It is Feb 1st of next year (2011). Dr. Pepper will accept letter requests until Jan 1, 2011 and then you have another month to receive the letter with the code and redeem it through the web site.

So wait, does that mean if I sent the mail out today, it would take until next year before they send it to me, or they send it to me whenever they get it.

Sorry, but I want to be completely clear on this.

I just got tired of trying to fix the problem that way, it's just getting more and more complicated.
Personally, do you think a reinstall of the whole game would fix the problem?
I'm okay if it means I lose my creations, I just want to be able to start up Spore again without having to go through all the technical stuff.

Since EADM is separate from Spore and Spore GA uninstalling and reinstalling Spore won't fix a problem that is isolated to EADM. I can't say that I would bother with uninstalling and reinstalling Spore in your situation as I wouldn't expect that to fix the problem.

Yes. Since you have a code and have redeemed it and the parts logo appears on your profile, go to
http://www.simprograms.com/dr-peppereas-spore-1-06-patch-and-14-mech-parts-download/
and download the parts from them and install it. This is the exact same program (all someone did was upload the program from the EADM download cache). Just do a manual download instead of having EADM download it.

My problem is not that I don't have the new parts anymore.
I can't start-up Spore anymore.

I guess on the way I got lead to another problem. And this is off topic right? I'm sorry

I don't think my computer is installing the new EADM properbly.

Maybe getting an old version would help? 'casue it worked just fine before.

It means if you mail out something you'll get a code when they process the letter. If you send your letter postmarked by at least the date mentioned you'll get a letter back with a code. It doesn't mean you have to wait a year or whatever to get a code.

You could try uninstalling EADM and installing it from the DVD, however I think EADM automatically upgrades itself to the latest version. Is this a disc installed Spore, not an EADM?Try uninstalling EADM and then launch Spore see if it works. If it doesn't work with EADM removed from your PC (assuming you can do this because you have a disc version) then your issue isn't with EADM at all, it's with Spore.

Thanks for answering Kaliena

Yes, I have disc-version of Spore.

That's a good idea. I know it upgrades itself, though I never thought about it recently. Forgot about that.

So that means that it's just the new download that doesnt work with my computer?

Or maybe, remeber I told you that my computer comes up with a message:

"Error: This application failed to initialize proberbly. Please ensure that you are not attempting to run the application on multiple Windows accounts simultaneously. If the problem still persists, please reinstall the application."

Maybe, my computer thinks I'm having two different EADM installed and running at the same time. ?
Because I already had an EADM and then downloaded and installed another..
?

EDIT: and about the "Try uninstalling EADM and then launch Spore see if it works."

It works, Spore starts up. I didnt know it could ? I was told by the EADM when uninstalling it that running Spore without it would cause Spore to not run proberbly. And I want my Spore to run smoothly of course.

If you haven't already make sure you have cold booted your machine, meaning you logged everyone out of windows and turned it off and killed the power to it and left it that way fora minute or two, then turned it back on. I assumed you've already done this, but just in case. Other than that go ahead and try just uninstalling EADM and see if Spore works.

All this means is that because EADM is not running, it can't push updates, or expansions that are digital download purchases, or additional addons (like the Dr. Pepper parts). EADM isn't need to run spore.

Wow, thank you DVDMaster!

I think remember I though it said that it wouldnt be able to run proberbly without EADM. isnt that the words they used?
I was afraid it might cause my creations to get deleted and all kinds of problems.

So I guess that means all problems are solved.

Thanks again Kaliena and DVDMaster for all your help

And Slime too!

Alright, I'm getting this problem:
"You need to redeem your Dr. Pepper code on the Dr. Pepper site in order to get Spore Robot Parts. Go here for more information." error when trying to download the parts on spore.com, even after successfully typing in your code and info on dr. pepper's site.

Only the really annoying part is no matter what I do (log out and stay logged out, try different browser, clearing cache and cookies) I still can't get the parts downloaded. Is there a certain download screen that will appear when the Dr. Pepper site links you to the Spore site? All I'm getting is this (sorry for the really big pic):

If it's some kind of glitch, I hope Maxis gets on it right away (but I know they won't, lol).

This is getting annoying, and I need help. I entered my code went through all the stuff, selected the bot parts and it brought me to the download page. So I click the download button and it doesn't work, it says it's "Connecting". So I look at the page and find this:
Please note:
There is a known issue with the following install path.
Spore PC > Spore Bot Parts > Spore Galactic Adventures

To fix this issue, please complete the following steps:
1. Uninstall Spore and Spore Galactic Adventures
2. Re-install Spore
3. Re-install Spore Galactic Adventures
4. Return to this page to install the Spore Bot Parts Pack.

So, I did all this and it still didn't work, I've done this twice. It's still not working. What do I do?

Looking at your spore profile, it does not appear that that you have registered a code. (you don't have the robo parts icon).

I would try registering that code again at the dr pepper site.
If that does work, I'd get a different code and try that one.
When doing all this registration stuff, use the same email address for all the web sites. It should be the one that spore is registered to.

Connecting to get the download is not related to uninstalling and reinstalling Spore. That is only required IF you somehow installed the Bot parts and THEN tried installing Galactic Adventures. That install path isn't okay. Since you haven't even downloaded the bot parts, it doesn't apply to you.

Instead, install the latest EA Download Manager from http://www.spore.com/patch and then go back to the download page and try downloading again. If that fails try using a different web browser and try downloading again. See the first post on this page for how to skip directly to downloading.

Are you using the same e-mail address for both the drpepper website and the spore.com website?

It didn't work. I re-installed EADM and tried again, and it didn't work. It was still connecting, so I closed the browser canceled the download and tried in a new browser. It still didn't work.
