you have to be good, and they have to find you in their search. you cant advertise yourself on this thread, so you can only hope and wait.

Good to know, but in your beginning statement doesnt it say this is a contest or challange (whatever) to feature less known artists and creatures. Checking the MPN would kind of defeat that purpose, as most of what i see there are usually a piece of work done by one of the judges (surprise surprise cause their good). The same thing with challenges, as I usually see the same 30 people enter a challenge and many other creators (myself included) never feel the need to try as I know one of you will always win. I personally believe sporecasts may be your best bet, as anyone and everyone has one and many of them have quite the varied selection of critters to choose from.

Sorry for that, I kinda got lost in my rant. In no way, shape or form am I telling you guys how to run things, I'm just throwing out my thoughts to help out the real underdogs and underappreciated artists.

@MaxGraphix & zombieontherise: Not really. I understand your point if you're talking about the MPN shortlist or even the first page or two. But obviously we'll look further than that. It take a single vote to get you on the MPN, and two votes to get a blue smiley, four for a green one... You don't really need to have a cult of followers for any of this. It's as easy as someone saw it on the All Creations page, liked what you made, and thumbed it up. Now although I completely disagree with the way the rating is set up, this is what we have to work with. And hey, if you don't land a creation on the MPN, there is still 3 other major venues I mentioned.

The contest part I don't get, this isn't a contest. If we're talking about the Judge of the Month contest thats a different story.

Edit: Also the MPN doesn't equal subscribers. It's the MPN shortlist that generates them, and to a much lesser extent the first page, but beyond that, it does nothing for subscribers. And this effort has generating subscribers for these creators in mind.

I know a lot of creators (due to the mass amount of people active) have little to no creations past the yellow face. In fact, some of the better creations I have seen have been skipped over to vote for some other creation with less appeal, simply because it was more popular and not better looking. (hope that is understood...)
My question is ... are smilies going to be an issue for the creations, or is it simply based off the artist's skill?

Skill. We don't care if the artist has a green smiley or not. The reason I mentioned that is because it really is ridiculously easy for a NEW creation to get those smilies these days because it takes only a couple of votes.
