1. Overview and Reference:


The TCP team is very happy to present to you our 16th feature! For those of you who don't know what TCP is the link in the header will take you to the Info thread that has all you need to know about it (and probably a lot more that you don't).

For TCP feature history refer to the 2nd post in this thread. And the two Sporecasts (Top Creator Pick, and TCP Creation Nominees) as well as the TCP YouTube channel can also be found in the 2nd post below.

The next sections will take you over Creation of the Week 16, Creator of the Week 16 (Intro, Interview, Featured Creations- YouTube stream and screenshots), and Credits.

Note: All small pngs are clickies that lead to the creation's large card for easy rating or they can be saved to Desktop and/or dragged directly into Spore for in game viewing.

The interview:

1. What is your favorite editor to work in?
My favorite editor would be vehicle/spaceship editor. Recently I began to enjoy the building creator. I hope I get used to turning the parts soon. The creature editor is probably my least favorite for now, although I'm sure I will enjoy it when I know how to use it properly.

2. What is your favorite creation (of your own creations)?
It’s hard to pick a favorite since every creation has its own strong point or impact after I create it. But if I have to pick one, it would be the (new) FRX-00 MAVE refined version. It’s from my first spaceship and I tried to create it back then. That design just grabbed my attention when I first created it, and I can’t help but want to make it close to the original.

3. Where do you get your inspiration from?
Mostly from anime and sci-fi films like macross (robotech), yukikaze, gundam series, etc. I also get the detail from toy magazine pictures. It’s hard to say but some also come from dreams. As for techniques, I study other creator’s creations.

4. Who are some of your favorite creators?
It's a hard question to answer since there are many great creators out there. The one that comes to my for the building creator is Andeavor. The detailing on each of his creations always amaze me. I also like DiabloDog and Sayalle for their realistic animals, and G3NJI for his biped creatures. There are still many other creators with unique and amazing creations so the list will be continuing.

5. Besides Spore, do you have any other favorite games?
Minesweeper > lol for some reason I just cant help but play it once in a while since I got my first pc with Win95. I like the Tiberian Sun and Ace Combat series; unfortunately they will never be made in pc version (I played them at my friends apartment). I also like those old PlayStation games since mostly they have better storyline than nowadays games.

6. What other interests/hobbies do you have other than Spore?
My hobbies are: drawing anime/manga style, watching films, and building models (but I stopped for a while. The kits are getting really expensive nowadays).

7. What is your favorite type of food?
Korean style BBQ pork/beef, ramen/spicy noodles, and food that I make myself (I don't like eating fish though).

8. In what part of the world do you live (do not need to be specific)?
Right now I live in Vancouver. It’s a beautiful city with scenery.

9. What advice would you give to someone new to Spore?
Never ever think you are not good at making something. Always think that you can improve in what you are creating stuff. You will be improving without you knowing it. But more importantly have fun.

10. Do you have any creatortips/tricks you'd like to share?
Try shaping the parts as much as possible and get a feeling how they work. Always try to color your creation and experiment with different textures (including using building textures for vehicle and vice versa). Try naming your creation or sometime use the random naming button. Don’t just type in random letters on the keyboard. Last but not least, take your time in creating stuff. If you feel tired - save and take a break sometimes before continuing.
