Do we discuss mods here or in general discussion (as modding is sort of developer stuff).

I would assume that it's so that we can discuss the game with developers and give feedback/exchange ideas/understand how they go about things.

So, is this compareable to Modding ? I´d like to see new Applications and Functions. Some Ideas...

Buddy Browser:

1. Add a function to show how many people are buddied to the User
2. Add a function to show how many Sporecasts a User has
3. Add a function to show how many people are subscriped to the Users Sporecast
4. Add a function to show how many Achievements the User has
5. Add a function to show how many hours the User spend with Spore (Alltime not only playing)
6. Add a function to show the Tagline of the Users Sporepedia-profile
7. Add a function to show how many active Games the User has (Planets, not Spore itself)
8. Add a function to show how many Features the User has
9. Add a function to show which place (Rank) every single Creation of the User has on Sporepedia (MPL or alltime)

Other Applications:

I would like to see some Statistics...

1. Could it be possible to show how many monopods, tripods, quadrupeds etc. a User has ?
2. How many Creatures/Buildings/Vehicles the User made (ratio)
3. How many Creations did he made while playing, or inside the Editors

Overall suggestion:

Finish that Expansion thing...can´t wait anylonger...

OK, since no one answered my post in the help section...


I have had spore for a while. A few times i have had to reinstall it. I reinstalled it this time, and it won't work. I reinstalled it again, and it still doesn't work. I turn it on, and the screen goes black. Then it quits. I may have used up the maximum download number, but does that mean i have to buy a new game? It wasn't my fault thta i had to reinstall.

KillTwist, what you have just done was very inappropriate. You could have PM'd a moderator if your post wasn't being answered instead of hijacking a newly stickied thread.

So, it's not about "modding", but about making your own applications using Spore.com data.

I don't understand the point of this.

Already played around with the feeds a little and found it quite enjoyable :oD! Easy and quick too. Will there be more feeds like this, with other info? I'm excited to see what will appear in this forum :oD

From what I understand, it's an entire forum devoted to creating plug-in applications to display Spore data, like the Buddy Browser.

It has absolutely nothing to do with actual gameplay.

would love to see a way to export are models as a 3d object with textures ie for use in lightwave or vue etc.
i know you can do it. or how would you be able to make your 3d printing etc.

id just to place my creations into my own freaky world in vue and render them.

OK! We have a feed that shows who a certain creator has on his or her buddylist, but will there be a feed to show who has buddied a certain creator, mainly ourselves? What I mean is if I wanted a list (feed) that showed me who has buddied/subscribed to my profile, would that be possible to make?

Mark, they use an exporter to Maya, which pumps out fully rigged and textured models with animations. I do hope they release it eventually.

I haven't gotten the chance to look at it very deeply, but is there access to data such as creature or vehicle stats?

Not that I can see.

Not unless you had a complete list of all Spore user names (not id numbers). The buddy list REST feed is keyed off of the name. You'd have to pull each buddy list (by name) and search for your own user name or id number. Using anything other than user name in the REST feed (sa id number or wildcards) returns a 500 error.

So while technically it IS possible, you'd have to have a current list of every Spore user id to pull each buddy list individually to search for your name/id. Which makes it highly impractical.

Unless there's an RSS or REST feed that lists every Spore user name...

(BTW, MaxisDangerousYams has you on their buddy list.)
