But I distinctly remembering you offering a similar solution and talking us through on how to do it for video spam. Do you remember?

Variety is the spice of life, feel free to do as I said, mix match, or find a new way to go about Sporuming business. At the very least you could not visit those forums afflicted by the spam, or just go somewhere else for the time the spam's here. Hell, I do that too.

And for a while that worked; you might even say it's still working. Very few users post in response to spam threads now and those who do, do not often post in direct response to what is said in the thread.

Then its equally applicable to flash spam then.

Anyway, generally PMing the address ensures that it will get seen. I usually PM two of the Sporemasters with the information and let them know who. They do keep some kind of log of what's goingI on and who's handled what and waiting on what.

It's interesting to me how quickly a request to the moderators to have the incidence of a violation (as cited by sporemasters) clarified in the rules, and some action taken to resolve the current rash of noisy sigs, turned into

1)

niggling about what could be done to "solve" the problem from the user's end, along with some ego-centric assertions that doing anything but those things immediately relegated one to being technically incompetent or "bossy" (as in mini-modding -- even though there was no scolding of particular users at the outset)

2)

a diversion into forum politics, powerplays and who has or does not have control over the forum or the ability to relegate behaviour or decide what's appropriate, with the implication that mods

Both of which have little to do with the request, which has been addressed.

This now can be locked, as far as I'm concerned as MY question has been dealt with.
