Yes it does. As you approach, you should get a cutscene saying "The gravitational forces this close to the core make it hard to navigate accurately. We've reduced range to improve accuracy." It makes it difficult, you have to find a particular area of the core that has the stars close enough together to make a path to the middle

Is everyone's galaxy the same?

Also, I am having the hardest time getting to the center of the galaxy, is there some way someone can, like, draw me up a star map?

I got to the core last night using a level 5 engine. I jumped through wormholes till I got pretty close to the core and then made my way to the center. I tried to go as fast as possible and avoid the Grox but when they damaged me about half way I went to the nearest planet and took it over via terraforming. As soon as I got in the right heat/air zone I dropped a colony. I then repaired, recharged, and bought a new colony pack. Using this method I often did not even have to fight any Grox. This method allowed me to move pretty fast most of the time, but sometimes the grox got me down or the route was tricky (backtracking) so it could be slow going. There is a sort of ring of thin stars around the core area that crossing can be a chore. I had to cast around that ring and backtrack a fair bit before I found a way across it. On the way out, I headed for the nearest wormhole, repeating my terraforming process as necessary, and then just took wormholes till I got reasonably near my home system and 'hoofed' it from there.

It was pretty stright forward do that

I got to earth too by watching a Youtube video of some guy showing exactly where it is ( the 1 minute video not the 8 minute video). That too was easy with a bit of back and forth orienteering

So has anyone completely killed the grox yet?

All you need is the Intersteler 5 drive, and about 10 basic health packs. Follow large clusters of stars to the center, and do not try and take shortcuts. And DO NOT stop moving. Soon as you do the Grox will actually start shooting. If you keep moving then they will just follow you.

Also, keep the camera view looking straight down, and only click on stars within the ring. While moving continually click on stars you might be able to get to as soon as you get to the one your currently headed for.

This does not take an hour. It only takes 20 minutes at most when manually flying from the middle of one of the Galaxy arms.

Other helpful items:
1. Full restore energy packs (otherwise just basic energy packs.
2. Those anti-matter missiles for quick dispatching of the Grox if you do start getting shot at.

I found humans (not on Earth) and uplifted them to a space race with a monolith. Still have not found Earth and I can not get past the grox. I made the mistake of fighting them on my first mission to find them and they are now very hostile. I put two embacies on their planets, but it did not help.

When you uplift a race can you abduct some of them and take them to a plantet. I have two humans pre space stage before I uplifted them and I thought it would be neat to take them to Earth and see if they can colonize it.

Anyone try this?

This is sort of a spoiler, but i'll leave out quite a few details.

I had interstellar drive 4, and found earth.

Close to earth ( sort of) there was a worm hole.

Near the exit of that one, Another !

At at the exit of that, Another,

And after that, 3 more!

And ( if you pick the right one) Another!

And this one ( my friends ) takes you in spitting distance of the galactic core.

I used up about 3 full recharges, but I did it!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't use Monoliths on Earth

The reason you can't use moonlith's is because there is nothing TO moonlith

If you haven't noticed, it's T1, with only a small, medium and large plant.

Mabye put an animal on it, and see if that helps

It does get harder to move as you get closer to the core. There are two ways around this. (1) get a better engine or (2) get a mod that removes the effect.

you can put a monilith on a planet that isn't filled out Earth just won't let you put it there

Not without mods they have systems that can't be reached

That way seems a little good, but I think it would take a while. Some reason I prefer to do it the hard way... never use a wormhole.
