Jeez people! I know some of you have had issues, but the fact that you even got a reply on the boards should give you a little faith in EA and MAXIS. It's quite obvious that not only are they reading your concerns, they are doing their very best to rectify your problems. Have a little patience, these things take time. Try to count to a million sometime and then you can maybe understand what it is to go through the code for this program. It has to be done line by line and that's nothing like one, two, three, four,........

Not trying to be a troll but you apparently have never written anything of substance in your lives, my disertation took me nearly two years, and it was only 370 pages. This program must be humungous.

Perhaps you should practice writing?

I've written scripts that were hundreds of thousands of lines long. A group of a half dozen people reverse engineered a popular MMO and had a stable client running of it in under a year.

Scripting and coding are 'hardly' as complicated as you make it sound. I'm not saying they don't have a difficult job...but computers and scripting are two painfully simple things. That's why I made the big bucks, people unwilling to learn handed me huge wads of cash to do things I learned in a few hours with a single google search .

The market lives and dies with the intelligence of the consumer. IF everyone is foolish then the market lives strong, because unfortunately capitalism is all about preying on ignorance.

OMG, it speaks!!!! I'm still convinced the game was fixed before it was broke. Maybe this patch will put some of the code they removed back in.

Actually, I do understand what they're going through, quite well. I know the ins and outs. Which is why I hate publishing companies.

Eh, stick through it Maxis. And remember, it IS possible to use the modding community to flesh out whatever you don't have time for, if you give them the tools.

Wouldn't that be something! Wishful thinking though, it's now property of EA, which will never allow that to happen.

They would make money hand over fist if they released the game to the modding community.

I don't think they'd be able to count the money as fast as it would be coming in for the first few months.

But then they wouldn't have full control over expansions easily and that would upset the powers that be.

Yeah, it may have been better if it had been picked up by STEAM! LoL

We can only hope they fix the crashes.

Actual EA has used the sims 2 community to help locate many bugs and errors with the sims 2 games. Many times EA has taken and used the fixes provided by the community and adapted them into patches. EA has also told gamers to many times use the fixes and hacks by the community until they ( EA ) can get around to doing an official patch.
