I'd been thinking they were high school students, but anything really works here. I had thought of having the rp start maybe a month before prom, and let it sort of build up with all the drama of both the prom and the sudden development of their whole universe and the problems it causes. I wanted it to have a few darker elements also. I'm open to changes in any of it though, I've done through a lot of different versions of it.

@Jokie: For balancing purposes, I was considering vampires to not be able to get upgrades. Although the exact nature of the upgrades, whether exoskeletal armor or Deus Ex-esque enhancements would have to be decided.

@lee: I'll try to think of something, but I really like that idea.

Oh, oh dear. Dangit, uhm. Well I wasn't thinking of it as an upgrade persay, more for aesthetics, But I can work around that I guess.

I could use a good nation/civilization roleplay, perhaps a modern one. I don't think we see enough of those. Plot-wise, there are plenty of reasons to start up a major conflict right now. North Korea, the situation with Iran, etc. Hell, even something in the late 2010-early 2020s would be pretty cool.

A race of biengs made out of energy comes to mind... or is that too out of the box for you people?

First thing that comes to mind, Stargate, more precisely the Ancients.

Energy beings are a bit hard to work with, since appearance isn't exactly a wide option.

I would have to dessagree with the lack in visual apearance. An energy being could look like whatever the creator wanted energy beings to look like.

Why not add somthing new to the table? Are you bound by law to work with content others created?

For some reason, the Greek gods of death and darkness seemed like an idea for an RP. Not sure how that would manifest.

For some reason I immediately thought of taking Gods of death from each culture and putting up a contest for them. Like, Egyption Osiris competes with Japanese Shinigami in some sort of competition. Which will be dark and brutal, I'm sure.

@Pachem: That's...interesting. My idea was gods of different darker elements, and organizations working under their banner (ex. agents of Hypnos, god of sleep, could teleport through dreams/cause nightmares, whereas agnets of Moros, doom, could manipulate Fate to do things).

I was considering some vague concept of alternate realities. The characters being made of pure energy could work as official sounding science, as they could alter time/space-f*ck it, no one with a Ph.D in metaphysics is going to join one of my RP's.

Essentially, the characters would have some task/driving plot, and they could interweave times and spaces to do so. This could range from something like shooting a gun that's unloaded to reversing an event from ever happening, although thinking of constraints or a system that keeps this from being impossible comes into play.
