It didn't work (the freedom cheat in the creature editor). All I really want to know is how to get my ship into the creature editor.

Most 3d modeling programs out there lets you import your png files in them to view them in 3d. Because most 3d modeling programs are like the art program or photo program view able and can read the creations because they are an image.

Thanks i've never heard of that before. Will try!

I've never heard of a way to get spaceships into a 3d model format without first going through the creature editor and using the colladaexport command. The tool that the OP used to open a spaceship in the creature editor is a hack and is only available for Windows at the moment.

While it seems unlikely that opening the creation's PNG file in a 3d modeling program will allow you to access the 3d model of the creation (if it did, then why would Maxis bother to add the colladaexport command?), you may as well try that and see if it works.

EDIT: Here's one way I know of to convert a .dae to a .obj file. Not sure if there's others.

Png isn't a 3D format, I've tried a few things over the last 3 days and have come up with nothing.
Maybe I should ask maxis to develop the colladaexport for vehicles instead of trying to find a hack.

Still if anyone knows how to get a ship into the creature editor feel free to share.

Is it possible to pull an image from sporepedia, like a ship and somehow load it into creature creator. Like dragging the png of the ship into the creature editor?

Good luck with that. :/

Sounds like more work than it's worth, but YMMV.

SPORE, now I have some hardcore modeling to do and no base mesh to work on.

This is the ship I made that i want to export to zbrush anyway:

It can be found here: http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=sast-500800802925

I know there is a slim chance but could someone with a windows computer run that hack and export the ship?
and maybe send it to this email address: MithosAnnar@gmail.com ?

Thanks for all the help!
