I put this in another thread, but an arena mode would be cool. Pit your creature in progress against a downloaded (or another of your own) creature and see how it handles in a one on one bout.

This would also be good for spaceships, boats or aircraft.

How about the ability to disable certain voices. The simlish that space creatures gibber in is incredibly annoying. I have voices disabled, but that means creature calls and all that are disabled too, but I want those enabled.

Some Ideas I had, may be repeats, as I only skimmed the topic.

Cell Stage:
Ability to add swimming 'legs' to cell, give a more seamless evolution feel to moving up to creature stage. Involves animation additions, so Im not holding my breath.

Creature Stage:
It may seem like a silly things to add in, but I wish you could use some of the 'features' from the Test Drive, in normal creature game mode. I think it would add more of an interactive feel. Being able to manually roar or maybe a victory dance after a fight, or just stop for a quick sing, targing nothing, would be fun.

It was mentioned before but I agree, adding the ability to use rudimentary tools in the creature stage, perhaps modifing what you start with in tribal stage. I've seen monsters pick up items and throw them at me, why not let them keet in in thier hand and add 1 to the damage they do, for example.

The ability to create Epic Only Tagged Creatures. Perhaps less restrictive complexity to allow for more intimidating epics.

Option to turn off Symmetry, for certian parts.

Tribal stage:
Add allied tribes to your 'pack' when you attack other tribes. In you are aiming for a 'blue' tribal stage, it would be helpful. You can do the same in civ stage, by asking them to attack a certian city, for example.

Civ Stage:
Would like it to last a bit longer. More communication options, request sporebucks from allies for example...

Space Stage:
More Voice Options, and how about the ability to 'lock in' the space personality your race will have on other players' games. I'd hate to think the first thing my 'evil' Lizard race asks another player is if they have any cake...

Like Minded Alien Allies. If you play a Zealot, and are allied with other Zealots, they wouldn't care if you use Fanatical Frenzy. As well as the ability to convert other races to your Philosophy.

Improve relations between two other races. There is nothing worse then having two races you are allied with ask you to defend them from each other, forcing you to damage relations between one or the other.

EDIT: Be a pirate yourself. Raider Rally gets you Sporebucks. You summon them to attack, why not have them share the spoils with you? Also, make the Pirates like the Grox, but give them scattered systems throughout the Galaxy. Maybe wiping out thier colonies in a range of, for example 100 Parsecs removes raids in that region, or making them allies stops thier attacks as well, with a negative to other races of course.

EDIT: This one was also mentioned, but a better version of the Holographic scout, for wandering on other planets, with jump / run, and interaction with other species on the planet. Perhaps allowing you to interact with unevolved Tribes / creatures, as an alternitive/addition to just dropping a monolith and leaving.

EDIT: Creating ship patrols, to limit the need to fly around to every solar system under attack. Simmilar to the Defense satallite you drop on your own colonies, but this is for allied planets/systems. Other races get multiple space ships, why can't we. Simmilar to Mini-U of the knight ability, how about buying multiple weaker versions of your ship to fill your armada, not saying they should be cheap, but at least you dont need to worry about angering allies when your armada gets destroyed. Or having Allies send ships to colonies to Defend them, why are you the only one doing all the work? Can't they send a ship or two to defend you once and a while...

EDIT: A Relationship tab/window, where you can contact another race you have met already, like a long range communicator, w/o having to fly to one of their planets/systems. Maybe have it work when you have an Embassy on thier planet. With this more communication options, request/demand money. Hey if they can do it, why can't you?

EDIT: ADDED IDEAS TO SPACE STAGE...

Thats enough for now, I'm sure I'll think of more later.

Omg they made a thread for this. Freaking great I can go all out about the cell phase.

Cell Phase:Make it longer not just a tutorial to spore.
Able to share your cell creation on the sporepedia.
You still gain dna points after you finish but it all resets so the parts you have and dna you have adds up to the original amount when you decide to leave.
Somewhat moveable spines.

Okay okay its not a lot but if yall did this all us cell phase lovers would love you.

RANDOM HOME SYSTEMS!

I am Fed up spawning in the same system, 1 uber war planet followed by my own planet and some sort of moon followed by a widlife planet with a crashed spaceship followed by a gas giant.

GIVE ME SOMETHING ELSE!

I dont want to play the stupid little Grox storyline you have set out, I want to play MY own. That means I don't want to spawn in he same solar system with each creature with just the colours redressed.

I find it a pity that you are no longer in the various stages of development and thus may be his own player can improve.
It is easy to play end and bring no benefit.
First thought when I like. longer in the 2 Phase I figure my game ne super intelligence can lend, or craftsmanship.

These skills should be in the next phase can be better by example. Weapons can develop better, faster or build something, or if you are forever in the lower levels staying later everything is good.

It is missing me also if we developed a spaceship, in this not the skills can be, for example. the ne smarter breed faster drives or larger weapons developed in this spaceship can be used.

Geil währ yes nor the ability of mutant abilities, intellectual influence of the opponents
Technical defenses intellectual influence (I start ups too much to dream * ggg *

In the space phase is then given as to skills-bound, means I can only buy what is offered and may not themselves develop what I had developed.
I can build spacecraft with 10 guns and one has only 1 each shot. Spacecraft shoots in the other direction where there is no gun is ... (ability is not according to the type used)
Other alternative would be even more equipment or Biological (grown spaceships like ALIEN part1, Perry Rhodan Dolan Spacecraft)
The other has already been mentioned, which is also holding several spaceships could use that can not take care of everything but it could scripts.

Would be nice if we still in the phase space in contact with other players could begin.
The technical developments of other players in shops would be offered for sale then you could use themselves.

To put it in this direction (struggle) against other games is not too hard so you can be asked beforehand whether the other is a must attack or not, WoW example.

Something will probably not be fitted with plug-ins

I though a system for injuries on creatures. The reason was to give redundant parts or stats a purpose.
Original thread: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/5947.page#57204
The first creature I made entering the creature stage had one leg because I thought it would be interesting, but actually one (or two) leg(s) is all you need because of overlapping stats. With non-cumulative stats you'll never use something with horns and armour because they both give health. There would always be combinations you'd never use because they'd gain fewer stats. That would get kind of dull.
One idea that would cover most parts was to have injuries from combat. During combat a part might shut down making having parts with redundant effects useful. Having one set of legs might be dangerous if a battle goes bad and you loose the speed you need to escape.
Other options could be having more that one attack part decrease the cool down time when using that attack, and having armour parts be cumulative again. Armour more than other parts seems like something that should have more of them on a creature. As it is now a heavily armoured creature can have one well protected kneecap and it's a tank. Although the cost and effect of each individual armour part might have to be adjusted if they were cumulative again.
I don't know what having overlapping social parts should do. In the injuries scenario it wouldn't really effect anything often because you could just heal before trying to socialize.

Also, effects for the different sense parts.
Original thread: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/5440.page#56203
Most of those parts do nothing which I'm sure no one really wants. One thing they could do is counteract sneak but something more interesting would be better. I heard that they considered having different quality graphics based on how good your creatures eyes were, which I think would be really cool, but they didn't want people complaining that their graphics card wasn't working or something. I had some ideas along the same lines. The mini map shows the location of nests and fruit trees. What if the amount of detail on the map was dependent of whether your creature had a nose part and could smell food or other creatures? Great idea, or the greatest idea? Also I was remembering back to part of one of the early videos of Spore when the Will Wright's creature entered combat it would play the Star Trek 'fight to the death' music. So for ears, the music could change when there are hostile creatures around, and change again when a hostile creature actually targets you, allowing you to hear danger.
I don't know what to do with antennae.
Many of those sense effects are things already in the game they'd just have to be used differently, and the various filter cheats means there varying sight types is already somewhat available.

Also a way to vote for or against creatures in the game would be good.

Change the Hologram scout to the teleporter, then you can do everything you can in the creature stage, but also go into cities/colonies. There could also be a minigame for each type of building.
Entertainment building - some sort of arcade with games like pac-man and tetris, but sporified.
Factory - an anything creator, where you have access to every part in all the creators in order to make whatever you want.
House - can interact with families in basic conversations, also can play simple board games like chess or checkers, but agian sporified, but also showing your people moving the pieces.
City Hall - ability to acces the city planner

More from Me:

Space:
Any Colony you place should remember your orginal planet's Building/Vehicle Setup. Im tired of having to repick all the buildings every time I place a colony on a new planet.

Ability to Modify your base creature in Later Stages. Once a species reaches the tribal stage doesn't mean it stops evolving. Perhaps the abiity to add/replace Limbs with Cybernetic Versions instead, would be another idea. As well as being able to remove no longer needed 'organs' to decrease complexity. For example, in Civ mode, poison spit isn't needed any more.

I think Blaze-Dragon's ideas about the Holo-Scout could be fun, and I agree.

Tribal/Civ:

Ability to choose what you start the Civ mode as, Rather then being forced into a path based on only what you did in tribal.

Creature:

More random events. Rather then just one meteor storm and one ship visit. Not sure just what they could be, but I'm sure others could think of something....

I have some ideas for space mode that I would love to have implemented.

1) I want bigger spaceships. Right now they are way to tiny. It restricts creativity.

2)I would like to be able to fly around in solar systems. It would be much more fun than the point, click and zoom that is currently in the solar systems. I understand it for moving around the galaxy, but you could add much more depth if you flew around in the space around your planets.

3)Space stations, orbital defences, orbital science stations. These are in almost every sci-fi series. They are very important and could add alot more depth, especially to trading.

4)More than just spice for resources. How about some ore, or jewel mines?

5)More detail complexity allowed for spaceships. The attention to detail is what makes most Sci-Fi ships look amazing. Even the Firefly class ship, a relatively small ship from Firefly, has more complexity than most things that can be made in Spore.

6)Orbital bombardment. Exterminatus Extremus anyone? It could add some fun.

7)Anti orbital guns. For defending against the orbital bombardments.

Useful vehicals in space mode. No more useless drones that just sit around while the Grox attack. We need a planetary defence force.

9)Let us deploy an AI controlled army on enemy targets. A force that will slowly attempt to capture a system or planet. you have to deploy them, and they will fight against an enemy defence force. It should take a while, and could fail. Imagine landing on a planet to find troops fighting against each other, threnches everywhere, some artillery firing. It would add an emmence amount of depth to the game.

A couple of things from me:

Custom RSS Sporecasts So fansites etc. can create their own RSS/Atom/OPML/etc feeds(/lists) to which players can subscribe. If a valid Spore PNG file is attached to an item in the feed, automatically import it into Sporepedia.

Drag-and-drop sporecasts This works on the website, but creating a sporecast in-game is just horrible. It's slow and especially very uncomfortable when it comes to creating a sporecast of stuff already in your Sporepedia. Why can't we just drag-and-drop items from Sporepedia to a sporecast, and have the server then figure out if the creation is (still) shared or not.

Vehicle templates So we can make one base vehicle of a type (i.e. one land, one sea and one air vehicle), without any religious/economic/warrior weapons, and clone these to make the specific vehicles. This way we can make a series of vehicles for all civ types that are all alike, yet differ when it comes to weapons.

Turn off cinematics I've seen 'em now. Can we turn off all those cinematics in the options, please? Escaping out of them all the time is just a hassle.

External pollination servers This is a big one and somehow I doubt it's gonna happen, but I think it'd be nice if we can at least run custom pollination servers (even if all we get is documentation of the calls etc. that should be supported and then we (the community) create our own server implementation). Then the game itself should probably also in some way support using those servers, but even if it's without UI and just the cheats ('prop' stuff etc, the basic infrastructure is already in the game) I'd be happy. This also helps players keep the game alive even if EA decides to pull the plug out of the current pollination server(s) eventually.

Possibly an idea for a complexity toggle. When you would start a new game, the complexity toggle would allow for simple, average and complex alongside easy, medium and hard. Thus the ability to appeal to casual gamers or newcomers is preserved, and those of us who really want to go for complexity would be able to have what they want.

Here's another list. Most are for the space stage:
--Make the hologram scout faster, able to fly, and actually proportional to other creatures (right now it's huge)

-A create galaxy option, with black holes that lead to other galaxies. When the game starts up I've always looked at the clusters of stars around the main galaxy and thought, "Hey, wouldn't it be cool to go there"
As far as making them goes, maybe be able to make a custom planet in another editor(no way earth was made using those unwieldly terraforming tools) or for players with some programming experience a way to make a custom planet script.

-Ability to destroy/create a system. I noticed the destroying systems was mentioned earlier. I actually have an interesting story about that. One time the Grox attacked one of my colonies, destroyed it and killed me. When I went back to rebuild I found that not only was the colony gone but the ENTIRE SYSTEM had vanished. I didn't save but I still want revenge . (interestingly enough on another game they destroyed a colony and I found a tribal civilization there-this was on earth, though, if that makes a difference - the terrain also went back to its original shape. Odd...) Naturally the ability to create one would add balance to the game.

--A wormhole device you could put on any planet you've colonized to instantly move between colonies. Those of you who've watched Stargate probably have a fairly good idea of what I'm talking about.
OR
--The ability to create a black hole - you'd have to manually place both ends - saves the trouble of jumping through multiple ones to get from point A to point B

--The ability to create planets (in game) or at least restore the destroyed ones - with a random spice color, of course

-More philosophies - maybe a religious one that isn't bent on killing everyone in the name of spode (instead, maybe try to get other empires to convert to their philosophy? A missionary, perhaps?)

-More colors of spice, and have their values vary depending on where you are in the galaxy (i.e. have red spice virtually worthless in one area but worth a ton on the other side of a black hole). To keep the gameplay interesting though, it'd have to change over time. This is sort of in place already, but make the price ranges all the same (maybe in some places with little red spice have it go up to $73,000 a unit?). Another interesting thought would be to have some colors that are worth more to certain philosophies than others (spode spice!)

--Have the Grox stop attacking your colonies after you reach the center of the galaxy

--Stop disasters from happening when you get a certain distance away from your colonies - it's annoying. Although you could make an exception for when you're in Grox territory.

--Have a one time use return ticket for everyone (but to make it fair to the shamans, make it expensive)

--Make the cloaking device work in the interstellar view but drain energy

--Some kind of planetary defence cannon that reduces the rate of attacks (or the number of ships that appear when they do occur)

--Space stations (not various kinds like mentioned above, but allow for customizations like solar panels that reduce the cost of recharging there, etc.) I'd like to be able to place these in the interstellar view.

--Have spaceship parts you can find that increase certain abilities (for example, speed, weapon power, health/energy storage (stacked on top of the expansions of course), or a wide range of special abilities (like the ones given by the philosophies, only a bit weaker and maybe re-introduce the level system - like in the creature stage)Maybe even give added effests to existing weapons, like having the laser drain energy from enemy ships and restore yours.

--A plant editor

--Going along with the above, a botanical park tool that you could place on a planet that works like the wildlife reserve but for plants(I'd like to be able to have both on the same planet)

--Be able to terraform wildlife reserves

-More planet colors and sculpting tools. I'd like to have a black sky.

--Add more depth to the cell stage or have an aquatic stage that works in a similar way

-Bioluminescent creature parts

-Have the noses/antennea be able to pick up the scent of nearby creatures in the creature stage.

--A seperate cargo hold for animals/plants

--Some kind of way to mark a system so you can find it later-It'd be nice if the marks were visible in other saved games(on the same computer or on a buddy's computer, of course. I don't think having everyone see everyone else's is such a good idea.)

-Maybe be able to have your creature become photosynthetic? A plant empire would be interesting...

Umm... I think that's about it... by the way I marked the ones I'd like to see the most with two dashes.

I would just like to see deeper space gameplay. Think Wing Commander Privateer. Planets get assigned a planet type (Entertainment, Science, Military, etc) that demand different goods depending on their type. Military planets have a high demand for entertainment goods for instance. More missions would be nice. Maybe have some plot heavy sets of missions for each race type to find storybook planets.

Oh and for the love of all that is holy, set the cooldown for terraforming tools down to 1 second.

Tribe Stage - Farms!!! An agrarian society would be a great alternative.

Space Stage - Let us land on a planet and get out of our spaceships and walk around. This could take us back to Civ stage or just allow us to interact directly with other species.

Bring back the water stage. I was looking forward to this from the first time I saw the game demoed. I want my submarine cities in Tribe and Civ stages. Submarines would be awesome.
