Just keep pretending that there is nothing wrong with this game so you can justify spending your allowance on such a huge waste of potential.
How is it childish? It's all completely true, and facts.

After playing space last night it would be nice if I didn't have to replace every single turret on each city on my homeplanet each time I'm attacked. By the time I get done fixing them, I'm attacked again.
I don't mind that I have to make repairs but make it a little easier please.

My main question is whether or not a standalone version of the patch will be made available. I didn't see any reason to install the EA Download Manager, so I'm hoping there's a standard install file as has been the case for the last 10 years of games. It'd be a nice gesture for those of us who play on the go with offline laptops too.

The main thing I find to be a problem is the AI in space mode. I get halfway through a misson and all of a sudden I have pirates attacking three planets and the grox attacking two. Oh and add in a couple of eco disasters as well. There is too much potential for space mode, but you can't get anything done or enjoy it if you are always defending your planets or picking up after eco disasters. Oh and would it not make sense for the race you save from an enemy or eco disaster to pay you for your trouble? They could at least add sliders to allow you to adjust the frequency of these events so you can play a more laid back game if you want to.

Optional, yes, but doing missions for your neighbors is a cheap (and in my opinion interesting) way to stay on good terms with them.

It's going to be in the first expansion pack, the game just released, estimate a half year or more. Be patient.
The flora editor is already in game. It's kinda bugged and most stuff doesn't work, but really we shouldn't have to pay for something that's kinda essential to the game.
the picture if from a debug mode, there's no way to access it from ingame.
Proof for the unbelievers.

Nice floral editor, as all the editors are pretty impressive. Hopefully it is just a patch that unlocks it in-game as opposed to an expensive x-pac.
My bugs have been rather minimal, but I still cannot connect to the internet now going on three days.

While I do agree that a release for free of the floral editor would be great, we are talking about the same publisher who considers a roster update to a football game worth the full price every year just because they slapped a new number on it. I don't see us getting this for free.

one of the other issues i had.. might not be annoying to some ppl.. but, when i started my space stage. one of the races that i met to trade/ally with.. was the same race that i had just created. umm...why? they had the same name, ships, etc as i did. at first i was getting confused if it was a colony or home base that was calling me until they wanted to goto war with me.

In seeing the things about patches and updates I really like the idea the idea of Team Fortress 2 from Valve. I have that back last October and they already released updates from 3 of the characters for FREE (more is coming for the rest of the characters). And they fixes bugs in terms of days but not weeks, through the Steam system (which of course, better than the one EA has in terms of stability, and they are the same in regards of second hand blockage). They also constantly improved the features of the platform and add nice ones such as in game messaging. EA as a major (?) publisher and game maker should really consider their relationship with their clients, the mightily clients, not third grade citizens.
I don't think we need to pay a gaming company just to have bugs fixed or feature added. I think it is their problem not making it good in the first place or not doing project management well and their problem of not making money from a crappy game. It is their problem and I never buy the expansions from EA (except the really cheap ones from Battlefield). I have the original The Sims 2 but get pissed off by the loads of "expansion packs" of merely a few game modes and new furnitures. If you get Team Fortress 2 or Orange Box you have like got 4 expansion packs in one package cheaper than the price tag of Spore.

I got my own gripes to add to this list.
- Fixes needed for targeting in the Space Stage: This annoys me to absolutely no end. I cannot stand it when I'm trying to shoot something and instead all I target is my friendly fleets because they are buzzing around me? Who thought it would be a good idea to allow you to target your fellow fleet members? There are no weapons-items that I know of that effect them when you click on them, so why do that? The worst case was when I was dropping a colony pod when it once more assumed I was targeting one of my fleet ships instead of the ground, and launched the pod into space. It would not let me leave the planet until the pod landed, which it never did, so I had to restart the game from my last save! There is NO REASON FOR THIS!
- Return added character creation options: I've seen stuff that I cannot begin to make because it seems the character creator has more options then the final version of the character that came with the game. Is it just me or did they cut out certain things?
But by far, the most aggrivating thing is...
- Removed benefits for added parts: This is just not fair. The game completely removes any point of having multiple arms/legs/heads/anything because they dont do anything! The original coverage of the game all the way up to just before the launch that I saw on TV and on the net stated that having extra parts would be a benefit to your creature. And it makes sense, I mean you have limited DNA poitns so you cannot just add points until your blue in the face, you can only add as much as you have points for. But NO, they dont let you do that, they only give you the stats from one set of parts and consider the other parts useless and dont add stats. I'm sorry, but if you have more legs, you should be able to move faster. If you have more arms, you should be able to hit harder. If you have more heads, you should be able to call/sing louder or bite harder. If you have more bone armor peices, you should be more resistant to damage. Removing the stats for those things makes those changes completely pointless! PUT THE STAT STACKING BONUS BACK!!

I concur with the stat stacking bonuses, if you can afford the parts, and want to give your species three mouths it should have the benefit of having three mouths.
Targeting your own fleet drives me up the wall, take out my ability to target my fleet and take away their ability to be hit by my weapons (they always seem to fly between my shots and the enemy.

Here are some of my ideas for some fixes/additions that I would like to see in a patch/expansion pack:
1. Defense
1a. Allow your colonies to make starships for defense based on the number of cities per colony and class of planet.
For example:
A T0 planet with one city gets 1 ship.
A T1 planet with one city gets 4 ships.
A T1 planet with two cities gets 10 ships, etc...
1b. You should be able to buy a flagship(s) (a clone of the ship you control) to defend a planet. You should also be allowed to command it, if the planet it patrols comes under attack (no matter where you are in the galaxy).
1c. You need a new category of ship slots, so you can buy your own ships and add them to your fleet (in addition to ones from your allies, which should be freebies when unlocked).
1d. The ships that defend your planet should have heath based on the level of your primary ship.
For example, if you have a level 1 heath (1,500 heath or is it 1,200?) upgrade:
The ships your colonies can produce have 500 heath.
The flagships you can buy have 1,500 heath.
The ones you can buy into your fleet also have 1,500 heath.
1e. All the ships (minus your allies), weather they are the ones your colonies produce, the flagships you can buy, or add to your fleet, should have the same weapons (the ones that are always unlimited) as your ship, after you unlock and buy them.
2. Pirates
2a.Their attacks should happen alot less and should mostly happen against weak colonies that produce spice (T0 planet attacks should be very unlikely). Attacks against strong colonies should be rare and should only be likely against colonies that produce rare spice (pink, purple, etc...)
2b.They should only be allowed to loot you, not destroy colonies.
2c.The pirate attacks you don't respond to should not always be successful (since your colonies can defend themselves). Also, their attacks tend to be more successful against weak colonies and unsuccessful against strong ones. However, if go to the planet/system under attack yourself (or take control of a flagship) and destroy all the pirates, there is 100% guarantee that their attack was unsuccessful.
3. Trade routes
3a. Trade routes should not only allow to buy an allies system, but to trade spice automatically between you and the empire you have the trade route with.
4. War
4a. For the most part wars are the same, but random hostile aliens without a home planet need to be removed or the attacks decreased.
4b.There needs to web that shows who you and your allies are allied with and hostile towards.
4c. The missions where you help the ai attack other ai players; need to only arise when you volunteer to help them if they are at war.
6. Sandbox Space Stage.
6a.There should be a new mode called sandbox space, its just normal space mode without pirates/eco disasters, with unlimited money, all unlockables/tools and unlimited items.
