You have probably downloaded the parts off a third-party website, in that case you will not be able to upload stuff containing them. Unless you actually get them via entering the code on dr. Pepper's site they won't work properly and you might endanger your system, let alone the fact you will have an unsupported build of Spore and it's not exactly legal.

I got my parts from a third-party website. Will MAXIS fixs the problem with the uploading?
I already build some really cool stuff and i want to upload it...

If I'm not mistaken, it is not legal for Maxis to make what your asking for yet.

As a very last resort some may be stuck starting from scratch. Like I haven't had to do that almost ever major update or add on.

I live in America. I look in 7-11, Giant, and other stores, and I can't find any Dr. Pepper with "EA" on the bottom. What is up?

They likely haven't been stocked yet.

Btw everyone, if you need to respond to the post don't quote all of it.

Try logging out of spore.com, and of course disable remember me. Then go back to the dr. pepper site, then to code history, and click more info next to the code you entered, then click claim again. Then it should redirect you where you can
enter your credentials and download.

I tried this and it now asks me to re-select my prize but fails with an unknown error before I get the download link. I have tried using IE8 on Windows 7, Firefox, and IE7 on winxp. always the same. This is very frustrating. Please help. Thanks

Does this error occur on Dr. Pepper's website or Spore.com? It's probably the former as the bot parts pack isn't showing as registered in your profile. Also, at any rate, try clearing cache and cookies on IE7 and try again.

If it only freezes it's okay, that's what normally happens. If it actually crashes, then there are some things you can do:
- Turn off all background apps, and above all, anti-virus programs, firewalls and parental control programs. Some are had to turn off via task manager (processes tab), you can just hit ctrl+r on the desktop, type
msconfig
on the thing that pops up and disable them from there, then reboot. Only the processes critical for the system should be running during the updating content database process. Also next time, when you are to do that, right click the spore icon and select run as administrator as opposed to just running it.
There's also a possibility of your computer not meeting the minimum requirements or being outdated. Please post your dxdiag report as of here
http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/22070.page
don't worry about the length.
Now, as to retriggering the process, I think that you only have to rename the preferences subfolder found in the SPORE folder, how to find the SPORE folder
How do I back up saves / How do I back up saved games?
http://help.spore.com/cgi-bin/easpore.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=20401
in it there should be a preferences folder. Rename it to anything. Or if you have GA you can start core spore from the old icon, then start GA again, again with all background apps turned off. If these don't work, you'll have to uninstall everything (although you can choose to keep saves when uninstalling you can back up My Spore Creations folder in Documents and the SPORE folder you found), and reinstall spore first, then patch 5.1, then c&c and GA, then reinstall the robot parts. If you do the reinstalling post your dxdiag report first so we can be sure.

TheUberGuy wrote:I think this is my problem. MySpore page says that I have the parts, But they are not in-game. Whenever I try that link, I get a '500 internal server error' Which doesn't make any sense, because my connection is just fine! Any suggestions before I call tech support?

Try clearing cache and cookies and revisiting the page on IE7. It should work now. Do other parts of the site work?

Haven't heard of this one. Can you post your dxdiag report?

I'll try it myself later in the day. I'd put it down to insufficient system or maybe a reinstall should fix it.

The error is on the part of the Dr. Pepper site where you go to download the pack. I follow your directions above, and it now makes me select my prize again. when I get to the claim it button and click it, the error I get is:

I have gone to the Help Center and posted my questions to them.

Any other ideas as to how I can get my code to register to my Spore account?

Thanks.

I really feel badly for a lot of the players that are struggling with this. I had absolutely no problem what so ever on both accounts that I maintain when installing this. I wish that there was something I could actually offer as a help but I am wondering how many others had complete success without a glitch.

I have also considered uninstalling them as on both accounts I and my daughter are experiencing more than usual game crashes after installing. The reservation I have in un-installing is the probability that my games would become even more unstable and I'll once again have to start from scratch making it the fifth time. For the moment I remain neutral about.

My Dr. Pepper code isn't allowing me to upload creations onto the sporepedia. (it could be because I downloaded it 1st from a 3rd party?)... or the code I used isn't for the EA promotion (there were no EA Dr Pepper bottles at my store).

I was getting that error message also, So I just went and bought another Dr. Pepper and then that code worked. I made sure I did the next one right to, because I think I messed it up some how. Or there was some sort of bug or glitch.

THANKS! That did the trick, although I have no idea why the first code didn't work. I did everything the same way. Oh well, now I have my parts. Again, thanks!

Your welcome, I don't know why the other code didn't work but I'm going to guess it was a glitch or something.

Just make sure you use a new code. I don't know how exactly they're on the bottles but there is a possibility that it was already been used.

YESSS!!!
Finally got it to work.
I have a troubleshoot tip:
WARNING! You CANNOT get to the site that you download parts from if you are not using Firefox or Internet Explorer 7.
I had to install firefox to get this to work.
