This is the kind if thing that comes up every few seconds in the R.OBLOX forum.

funny things like this really are what makes spore entertaining, i had a similar thing where i was stelthed and chasing an enemy vehicle then i jumped and suddenly it stopped so i landed in front of it then it started going again and killed me, its like they were just tricking me into thinking they couldn't see me so they could run me over rather than me shooting them and blowing them up...

not quite as funny as turning the car on and squishing your self but very similar

Common sense dictates not to stand in front of moving vehicles, your captain is either Dumb, or has no sense of care for his/her life.

What is there that has NOT been made into a ship? There are so many perverse ship and building designs... My enemies in one game are in a flying basketball shoe.

If you read the OP, the player had a goal where he had to give the vehicle a key. So he must approach the vehicle. Furthermore, whenever you give a vehicle an object, the giver always moves in front of the object. The giver will never come to the side or rear of the vehicle to give the object. So it is impossible to avoid standing in front of the vehicle if the player is to accomplish the goal.

If this happened when I'm playing someone else's adventure, I would conclude that the adventure is poorly designed (it might even be impossible to complete because of this flaw).

If this happened with an adventure I am creating, I would make the vehicle on the green team so that it won't run me over.

Well maybe you didn't read it because it clearly said the captain ran in front of the vehicles while it was moving which leads me to believe my statement of the captain being dumb or having a general disregard for his/her safety.

The "captain" being code, can only have such "regard for his safety" as your imagination infuses him with.

Changing the status of the target would probably make some difference, since the captain's programming changes accordingly.

The other thing I'm suspecting is a factor, is the poor collision detection and on screen control of the captain.

When you can't target the captain's action in a granular way, he continues to do "weird" behaviours like this, and embedding himself in walls, running off cliffs, etc.

Of course, if it weren't possible to set a trap in which your captain is run over by a car, I'd call that stupid too.

I have to say, that's actually pretty funny, and not as bad as some of the stuff in general discussion.
