I decide and start on something and make another thing

For my Kirby creation, I saw some of Ezrie's old kriby and Kirby creations, and I thought, "These are terrible, I could make better!" Turns out I could!

My inspiration comes from everything around me.

I spend a large part of every day outside with my dogs and horses. There are chickens, cattle, sheep, goats and people everywhere, not to mention the wild animals. This morning I watched a black fox. When you are on horseback, many of the wild things will ignore you. Also when I'm walking with the llama, many of the wild ones, especially birds and deer, are so curious that they will come right up to see us.

At home, I have cats, fish and snakes.

I usually have more trouble limiting what I do, so I use the game to influence creation.

Most of my creatures are made in-game. That way the available parts channel the direction the creature is built. Also, when you create in-game, you are forced to try other parts, and sometimes use ones you don't plan on, or think you don't like, and find new ways to use them.

Another plus about creating in-game, is it gives you time to really know your creature, so you know it is expressive, moves correctly, doesn't clip badly, etc.

My worst creations are when I sit in front of a blob and try to think of something.

A good # of my creations are either attempts at replicating things in the Sonic the Hedgehog series (some just use chaos 0 colors), or completely random things.

Sonic is a nice place to start.

I get my ideas from looking at pictures, looking around me, or going in an editor and just messing around. I also get some inspiration from other people's creations.

Sometimes I get an idea in my head then mutate it in Spore or I listen to some music and come up with a bizzare creature from the song.

I just sit there until an idea pops up in my head... and sometimes from the help of music ^.^

My own imagination mostly, but also from books and movies of course. Most of my creatures are own ideas, as well as my building types. I tend to get inspired in building mode by greek, roman and victorian building styles.

I love Spore...that's for sure. It gives me full use of my creativity in a way that doesn't require expensive pencils and oil based color..

Here, I got the idea for the claw mods and how to make pectoral muscles that look armored.

I just play through the game. All my creations are made by simply starting out as a cell and gradually evolving to cooler and better beings.

I like improvising. I toy with the parts and when I come up with a cool looking shape I build on that. Then choose some colors that match it. I almost never know what am I going to end up with - I find it more fun this way.

I don't usually come up with ideas, the ideas usually come up to me!
