Too bad the mod couldn't be utilized with an in-game toggle. This would be a great idea for future developers.

Agreed, there are times when I want symmetry and times when I don't... a toggle would make me so very happy!

Motie, from Larry Niven and Jerry Pournelle's book, The Mote in God's Eye (and its sequels.)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Mote_in_God%27s_Eye

Comments? I think it "works" better than the poor tormented creature on the mod site.

Edit: Yeah, a toggle would be nice. I got around the problem by moving the mod file in and out of the folder to the desktop, and restarting Spore (I put the arms and ear on first, with the mod, then took it out to finish.)

Yeah, I have the same question as the Chelkans here.

As near as I can tell, from moving the mod in and out of the folder, there shouldn't be a problem.

On the one hand, the capacity for animating asymmetry is contained in the game (the creature still works without the mod.) On the other hand, editing the asymmetric parts without the mod will make the other half reappear.

On the gripping hand, if an asymmetric part shows up and you don't like it, you can always ban it.

Oh yeah, does the asymmetry mod still work with the patch? I forgot to ask that too.

Yes. I made the Motie with the patch installed.

I already installed the patch, so should I install the mod and then re-install the patch, or will it work to install the mod over the patch?

Edit: Never mind, I see what he did there. Nice job on the Motie by the way.

*cough cough* So... if I were to install it, edit my creature, and uninstall it/move the file, it'd still be asymmetrical unless I edit it again, correct?

P.S. According to you guys there's no toggle, in which case I suggest that they create one in an upgrade of the mod/ another version of the mod.

In any case, my Felinians will be... "losing" an arm, leg, and part of their face... *goes to buy cybernetics*

Don't you hate it when you go to create a creature, and everything is mirrored unless you place it down the center of a creature? Well this modification fixes that. Now you can create 100% true asymmetrical creatures *and* it works in all of the other editors.

The modification was found at http://spore.vg (There are a couple of other modifications there as well).

1. Download the asymmetry mod.
2. Place the file inside of your Data directory found in the Spore installation directory. You will see other .package files there, that's where this goes.
3. You're done!

Oh and share the love, let everyone know about this.. It'll increase Spore's popularity, digg the article..

Funny thing is, this should have been added in vanilla spore (press a key to do asymetry)

In what-see-who-now Spore?

Also, you say "this should have been added in vanilla spore" so I think that you mean that it isn't, but then you say "(press a key to do asymetry)", so I think that it is in Vanilla Spore (whatever that may be), so which is it?
