I just got the holoscout today and was severly underwhelmed. An update in a patch is needed fast. Or will it be in Galactic Adventures?

I don't understand why they didn't include the ability to get out of your UFO. The hologram takes more effort to develop. They actually went out of their way to make something less useful than actually just letting us get out of our ship.

Exactly the issue. It's not like they didn't get around to implementing it, they made it clear they don't want it in the game. My best guess is that they might feel things will look bad up close. Or the lack of full mechanics from previous stages will become too clear. They don't want all that to be disappointing, so they what they did was akin to making us blind so we wouldn't find what we see to be ugly.

Holoscout ruined planetsculpting for me. I finally got it, and realized I'd never get to see my creations up close. No point picking a planet in a fancy star system, because I could never look up at the sky. Or making beautiful terrain, because I could never look across it like we can in creature stage. And I want to see tribal creatures running around doing their tribal things, maybe even use holoscout like some sort of disguise device to blend in as one of them.

I just wish they'd spend some time fixing the game, add a loading screen if they have to, but make it so that holoscout brings planets to life like previous stages. Make it so I can blend in, and do what creatures of whatever the stage the planet are in are doing. I'm not even talking about adding anything new to the game. Just bring back to the space stage what's already there. That would be way better than GA.

Here's a tip, you can make it walk faster if you bring up the settings panel and then close it before you use it.

Holo-Scout would be cool if it were not so slow. If you have used it you know that while it is cool to have, You will rarely if ever want to use it. It is MAD slow, creatures can attack and destroy it(?), it runs out of energy quickly, Its only good FOR that creature stage perspective it grants you, and nothing else.

I wonder if what people really mean when they say they want to be able to beam down to planets is that they want to interact in some way, for there to be some sort of gameplay at that level.

I tried holoscout again recently, after not using it for months, and while it seems better than I remember, still, utterly pointless. And while I'm screwing around looking at stuff, I've got unchecked grox attacks and eco disasters ruining my other planets. Guess what I mean to say is that I wish it were more usable, less tedious, and there were something to actually use it for.

I agree with most people here, holo-scout is lame.
I wasn't aware that it existed for a long time and I always wished for a way to explore the planets.

This is ridiculous, with GA the gameplay for exploring planet surfaces freely has been implemented, and is only used for adventure. I want to explore that planet the same way I do in adventures.
I don't care if this has no purpose... Hell, the whole game has no purpose. It's part of its concept. I would still want it even if it has no effect whatsoever on gameplay.

That's what threads are for. This problem/request for feature has no answer yet, and it's far better than making a new thread on the exact same subject.

Yeah, I used the holo scout and was picked up by an epic and eaten. Why can't my captain be eaten by an epic?
I want to destroy teh tribal stages with my rocket launcher!

I like sending the Holo-scout down on tribes. They all runaway screaming.

Why not beam down the captain with fighting and flying capabilitys insted?
