It would be really great if they would just have a thread that says something like:

"Here's a list of the problems we're working on:

[insert list here]"

They could even go so far as to estimate when the problems look like they might be resolved, though that's probably getting way too wishful. It's almost like they think that if they don't acknowledge a particular problem, then no one can hold them responsible for fixing it at any particular point in time.

Or something. Heck, I'm just making up stuff because there is absolutely no updates on the forums from anybody at the company.

It leaves me trying to fill in the blanks. Has anyone checked their offices? Maybe something terrible happened to all of them and we're all waiting here for responses from a bunch of people who are slumped over their desks, in comas, or they've been abducted by the Grox... or maybe they have been banished and sent to Siberia. Who knows.

The thread you wish they had is commonly referred to as the "developer's thread". It usually is locked for commenting, but they post what they're testing for a later patch release. It happens on MMOs quite a bit. Some of those even invite you to a test server to play through the new changes and provide feedback. It has become apparent that if you aren't paying the company a monthly fee to play their game the best you can hope for is a website hosted on a slow server that runs on dial-up.

I think they are all in hiding somewhere, afraid that if they show their faces they'd be bombarded by the angered masses tossing rotten vegetables at them. However, it would be nice for them to say something, after all they do expect consumers to be purchasing the parts packs and expansions in the near future.

*edit* I too have been sondering what happened to the Q&A thread.

Not so true. I'm thinking the backend technology behind Spore's website is pretty advanced. Think about it, they have to manage a database of over 40,000,000 records. Databases with thousands of records are challenging enough, but 40mil, Great Spore that's insane! So when you perform a search, it takes awhile, and I don't think it will change anytime soon. Digging through half a million records to find your search term, lol, you better have some horsepower back there. I might be wrong about this as I'm no database guru, but 40,000,000?!?!?!

Its still there though it has been locked I can also look for the "Q&A have been submitted" thread but that all it really said so just take my word on it they have been "submitted".

A database is a database.. 40,000,000 small files.. that might take some harddrive space... the way I see it.. it would take a guru to make it fast.. search is slow as molasses.. in my opinion.

What is going on at EA ? ? ?- where is a Will Wright statement ???

Did I miss something or is there still NO official reply to all the complaints over spore ?

Apart from the small note on DRM in mid september and strange interviews with EA management on stockrates, there is not a peep of Will nor any Maxis/EA official.

Having given up on playing spore the way it is, I wont be buying the parts pack and will be waiting for someone to RESPOND if I was ever to open my wallet again for an EA product. I know I am an individual only, yet a customer.

What happened to the feedback/Q&A list btw ?

IT is SO annoying!!!

PS: this is the third topic of this kind (of mine) which kinda speaks for itself in regard to satisfactory replies.

Welcome to the club my friend. We have name complimentary name tags, mugs, sweaters, hats and of course, your ID card. Would you like yours laminated?

Click Here if you have had problems with the DRM/SecuROM. Theses are current class-action lawsuits in the process of gathering evidence to sue EA Games.
