So none of this is true?

EA could never make something like this legal. not playing a game you payed for because of forum behaviour? lol which court would buy that?

Last time I checked EA didn't care much for laws, regulation and courts.

@CommanderT: Thanks mate. Just a shame it took a couple of posts to clear that up. But good on you. Soak up the karma

It's highly unethical, and if disrespecting customers was a crime, EA's whole building would be a prison.

EDIT: spelled prison wrong.

Yea man, good on you for clearing that up.
I saw this turning into a drama fest. I admit I didn't laugh with it either.

At this point it wouldn't even suprise me.
And yes, I am aware that EA preserves the right to do anything they see fit, I just don't agree with it.
Lets keep in mind that the legaility of the TOS and EULA is very qeustionable.

While EA is many things, they're not TOTAL idiots. That sort of practice would result in more lawsuits than you could shake a stick at. Yeah, EA is getting taken on for the SecuRom thing, but forum bans that lead to you not being able to play your game amounts to a legal KICK ME sign on EA's zipper region.

So stop buying EA games. Meh... Command and Conquer(and Red Alert) died with w.e.st.w.o.o.d.

A lot of courts buy their current shenanigans, why not this one?? Money talks. They made bringing back, or selling your game illegal for all intents and purposes...... need I say more.

Honesty.. it seems to me that if they do close your account... you would NOT be able to use any games associated with it.

At least this was sorted out in the end.. hopefully.

A company bans a player from a single player game. That is the single most dumbest move I have ever seen a gaming company ever make. SPORE you EA, go SPORE yourself.

Haha, that was cool. SporeMasterEnumerator edited my post to switch my "profanity" (that sounded like a priest) for ***********. I guess you get censored one way or the other.

I think it's really funny how they think all curse words should be substituted with SPORE, as if that was the mightiest of them all. Precognition? In the future when someone stubs a toe will they yell out 'Spore!'?

Personally if it was up to me I'd have used something that made more sense, like the word 'dirt' or '@#$%!' (like in the game) but hey if they want their game's name to be synonymous with all profanity, maybe they were thinking ahead.

When a game really fails, we can say they "pulled a SPORE"
