For months now there has been an ongoing debate which needlessly takes up forum posts and I personally would like nothing more then for someone at Maxis to check and confirm this for us.

1 Are their unreachable Grox Worlds * I know there are * The real question would be Is there a way to reach them without MODS?

2 If there are ways to reach them without MODS can we get maxis to detail the steps in a walkthrough ?

3 If there is no way to reach them without MODS then what are you doing to fix this so the game is fair for all and a player has a real chance at beating this enemy?

4 If your not doing anything to fix it then please explain why?

We've released an official mod that will resolve the unreachable grox worlds issue:

Expanded Travel Radius Mod

This mod increases the travel radius when in the galactic core zone to 10 parsecs (a travel radius of 9.8 parsecs is needed to reach all the stars in the galactic core area). This mod will work with your current saved games.

To use it, save it to your Spore Data folder. You’ll need to have updated to patch three in order to run this mod. If you patch your Spore game after using this mod, this file will be automatically deleted. To get the mod after patching, simply download it again.

This mod is available for both PC and Mac.

Answer one is most likely a "No, the testers never tried taking on The Grox and thus didn't notice that some planets are unreachable there".
But I'm not a developer. Having a developer answer a thread is just down to luck.

Nah, I'm guessing they did test that part by significantly shrinking the number of planets owned by the The Grox empire. You can do that with mods.

Ashloc wrote:Oh well I think we need an answer for this. I will copy the question and send pms to every Mod and Spore masters Until I hear one and bump this thread until I am blue in the face and not from being uprated.

That'll likely get you in trouble. Especially considering that the SporeMasters are not a part of Maxis.
Plus, I sincerely doubt Maxis are going to be all that helpful to someone who'se insulting their company in their signature.

The question is legit and needs to be answered and someone here has a pipeline to Maxis and can pass it along.

If they refuse to answer or ban me for asking they only prove the truthfulness of my SIG.

I have checked the TOS there is no violation for asking a question of this manner.

Its simple

Yes we are aware of the issue and are fixing it
or
we are not fixing it.

They can ask me to remove my sig ! I will remove it at the same speed they address this issue LOL!

Also I am insulting EA not MAXIS! EA is the parent company.

they are reachable with moving stars and you can also try slingshotting yourself to them but you have to die at end.

And the slingshotting+die method is flawed if you want to colonise and/or terraform those worlds. Say you slingshot out to a single-planet system that cannot be reached by any other system and use the SoL or a Colony Incredi-Pack on that planet. Now what?

Great. One Archetype out of 10 has the solution. NO OTHERS. That does not amount to a reasonable solution.

mooki you and others like you are the reason I am asking this of MAXIS because I KNOW that isnt true.

I played spore last night for about 4 hours.

Of those 4 I spent 2 testing every method of reaching unreachable grox worlds.

Slingshot and waiting. Slingshot doesnt work with the grox worlds close to the core but between galatic arms they are to far.

Waiting does NOTHING 60 minutes on one world red line pointed toward a planet just out of reach.

In 60 minutes its distance NEVER once changed. not even .01 nothing! Those who say they beat the grox with out mods are full of Spode.

Unless any of these claims can be verified by Video ( at the very least) then they are BS.

BTW mooki I was asking for a reply from Maxis devs not you. I know what you think I have read this same crap from you in other threads

Ive looked on other forums, checked friends lists on other games, asked all my friends, and sent 3 emails to EA/spore, which I got no response from. There has been no real answer to this question.

Now just consider for a moment that this was ANY other game, by ANY other development team.. There is NO way that they would just ignore such an issue as this.
Destroying the grox is the Ultimate goal in spore, and it has been flawed so that it is now impossible to do.

If the Lich King was unbeatable, would WoW players pay to play it? If Malacath couldnt be killed, would Oblivion players buy it? If Sephiroth was unkillable, would ANYONE bother to play through FF7? NO, They Wouldnt!

On the OFF chance that "maxis" is trying to make new content pertaining to the grox, it is still stupid to leave the players in the dark. For now, we are forced to use "iffy" mods, or cheat and lose our achievements.

"Make Your Choice - Achievements or Completion Percentage".... That's just not right.

I agree with the OP, and his signature is an expression of his own opinion, which I share. Parts packs are no answer for lack of gameplay, Ignoring fans/customers is no way to run a successful company, and Developers should be req'd by law to respond to high-traffic issues.

They're already pushing the "false advertisement" issue, the least they could do is offer their support on this.
And NO, sry but SporeMasters' responses aren't sufficient, we want an actual response from an actual developer/programmer. And the Cute-Team's #1 Fanboy, WW himself "should" be the one to respond, since this is supposed to be his "masterpiece."

Imagine if the Mona Lisa turned out to look like picaso painted it... wouldnt really be a masterpiece would it?

Guidelines - Posting etiquette

• Keep posts relevant
(this whole thread is relevant to the core of the game)

• Work out differences politely
(And if you don't we will ban you)

• Be respectful when posting about religious, political, or otherwise controversial content
(We here are Maxis and EA wish for everyone to be tolerant of eachothers differences unless those differences are different to our own, We will not tolerate your intolerance)

• Keep subject titles direct, descriptive and accurate
(Done)

• Use caps and repeated punctuation judiciously
(Only those with perfect grammar are welcome)

• Do not create multiple threads for one topic or post your thread in every category
(Okay deal just get this topic answered and I will put it to bed)

• Do not post blank messages
( No worry there)

• Keep signatures limited to 500 characters max, and limit signature images to 680 wide x 128 high. Overall your entire signature should not exceed an area of 680 x 160px.
( I think I am okay)

• Use bbcode to clean up extremely long signature links by displaying link text rather than URLs.
( N/A)

• Bump threads judiciously. If a thread has no new posts since the last bump, please don't bump it again.
(Umm this is like one of the most undefined rules, not like the other rule are clear. How long is it before your past the point of no posting.)

• Limit embedded image dimensions to 680 wide x 544 high.
(n/a)

Behavior – Help keep the forums a fun place to discuss Spore
( Yes it might be the only thing about spore that is entertaining)

• Keep posts clean: free of vulgarity, racism, profanity, and bigotry
( Has anyone checked some of the other threads)

• No personal attacks: don't flame, troll, insult, harass, threaten, rant
(Please remain pacified we only answer people who ask question that dont point out weaknesses and flaws in the game)

• Do not impersonate others
(No worries there)

• Do not post personal information about others
(want to tell me some?)

• No advertising/spamming
(Eat spam eat Spam Eat spam)

• Have a sense of humor!
Agreeed

Illegal Activities – What to avoid

• Do not post copyrighted material
(I am not doing that I am asking a question)

• We do not support posting links to images of creatures based on copyrighted materials
(N/A)

• Do not discuss illegal activities
(Nope I clean)

• Do not share accounts
(Duh!)
• Do not ask for or give out serial numbers
(57000-71014---- That from the bottom of a box of Special K and noone asked for it)

Moderators and Staff – We’re here to help ( Unless it to answer the question in the OP)

• Respect the decisions of the moderators and staff
( we have ultimate POWER MWHAHAHAH our feelings on this matter trump the rules HAHAHAHA * in otherwords we can make up rules as we go LOL)

• Do not publicize private conversations between yourself and the moderators/staff
( Deal )

• If necessary, we may have to remove posts or users who repeatedly violate our rules
( It seems that inspite of the reminder of the rules which I have recieved a few timesI never can seem to find a rule I have broken)

I understand that this question might not be answered today or tommorow or the next day so I simply ment that I will keep this thread or the question front and center until its addressed Officially)

Lets be honest Unreachable Grox worlds is kinda like a carrot tied to a stick hanging on the back of the rabbit.
They can see it and almost touch it but not quite.

I am not complaining about depth or DRM or any of the other thing that people have every right to complain about.
I am complaining about a Flaw in the game that is nearing 4 months old and has never been addressed.

Lastly

Bump Bump Bumpitty BUMP BUMP! Thanks you
