Most people are reminded of fast food when they call me that or read that name, I prefer to be called Aap.

Video games are my hobbiest hobby due to time and the like, plus I can't exactly draw or play music, and even though I have been told I should get into writting by several people (including an English Professor), I don't actual like to write. Also, being short with stubby legs makes me bad at sports, so what are you going to do?

Short with stubby legs is fine on horseback. You just get a horse with a narrow barrel, like a thoroughbred! I've got a very sweet boy you can ride if you're out this way.

I'm short, ran cross country, to slow to keep up with the masai kids I went school with! So I'm not good a lot of team sports, or anything that needs reach (like swimming) but I have a lot of stamina.

Running and horseback riding (dressage, cross country and jumping -- and games!) are / were my best sports.

It's funny, I recently moved back to the house I grew up in, and the neighborhood is full of people I grew up with. These are the guys I ran with in school (the bad kids who sat together and talked physics and philosophy and spit Jello). We have rediscovered "playing together" again. We go to the park and hang, frisbee golf, going sledding tomorrow up at the golf course, playing football in the yard...

So much fun!

I would introduce them to Spore, except mine is too broken to have fun with. Too bad. Most of us are artists of some kind (one of them does album covers for like BOC). But... what can I do?

Cheater, Dutch is half way there!

Well so is English.

I can read German, latin, hebrew, koptic greek and learning irish. Irish is hard, not the language, but there are 30 counties in ireland, and all of them think they have the way of it!

My people are from Connemara. No wonder I love and understand horses.

Everyone would be too slow to keep up with them.

Third year genetics major, and my hobby is art. Right now I'm working on improving my skill at oil painting. I just moved, so I don't have a job, but the clock is ticking.

I've attempted to teach myself arabic but I lost my notes. I recently rediscovered them but haven't got to studying them. Perhaps tonight would be a good night, it's late, quiet and not much is going on. Could go onto YouTube, put on Nusrat and read over what I have written in terms of the alphabet.

Oh I forgot I speak spanish, too. That I learned when I was a baby so I sometimes know words I didn't know I knew!

Yeas, hebrew, aramaic, greek and latin in school. My minor was in philosophy, which was part of the divinities school. Languages are easy for me, because I can shift the way I approach and think "syntactically". So those were my "easy A" classes.

Language patterns are second cousins to my pattern and systemizing savantism.

I see the commonalities in languages. Greek was hardest for me, since was my first non-latin language and the mode of thought was SO different from western languages. It's much more of an eastern language (not oriental).

One of my professors spoke 7 living and read 22 dead languages. He told me that a person has 4 open active language "slots" besides their primary language. Symbolic languages "use up" a slot in the table, just like natural languages. So most of my other laguages have been superseded by symbolic ones at this point, but I still often dream in spanish.

I attempted to learn spanish several times at my parent's request (homeschool dontcha know), but it never stuck. Would have rather learned Connacht Gaelic, Welsh, or Russian, but languages mostly elude me. There are days when I do well to hold down a command of English!

I'm genuinely impressed by people who can speak other languages fluently.

BB never loses an argument, in the same way that a ten-year-old never loses at CoD because he shuts off the Xbox when things go badly.

I agree. I just started taking Spanish recently, learning a new language is one of the most overwhelming things I have ever tried to do academically. I had a professor whom called herself a "true bilingual" because she thought and dreamt in both Spanish and English. Blows my friggin' mind!

Vilageidiotx is a they!
