Okay guys, this is going to sound weird, but bear with me on this...

I had a problem where once I got into the game I would get the message: "Spore is unable to connect to the internet an the Spore Server. Please check your internet connection blah blah blah...". I could not interface with the Spore server and could only play offline.

I fixed this, and it was not my router or hardware, or drivers or anything else within my PC. It was the game.

So this is the part where you have to bear with me . On the main Spore menu, you have your saved planets and down on the bottom left is the register button, considering you are offline. When you click on "register" it brings up a quick log-in menu and then hits you with the message I put above about no internet connection then shuts the menu down and puts you back at the main screen. Here is the part where you have to be quick and persistant... when the log in menu appears you can see a log in button in the top right of the screen (if I remember right) and then the error message pops up and blocks it (about a 1-2 second delay for the message). If you can catch that log in button before the message pops up, it will let you log in. At least it did for me. Took me about 8-10 tries, but I finally caught it, logged in, and connected to the Spore server.

Now my problem is fixed... and everytime I start the game, I am connected. I know a lot of folks, especially Killalz, had the same problem I did. I am not guaranteeing that this will work for you, but it did for me. I hope this helps you all out... good luck.

Guess I should elaborate... I had tried EVERYTHING to get Spore to pick up the internet connection. Firewalls dwn and uninstalled, along with giving Spore permissions through the Firewalls, along with the specific ports it requires. I did everything short of replacing my network card... Even the AE/Maxis Vista-specific fixes and such.

Above is something that just happened to work, as odd as it sounds...

By the sounds of it, you'd have an easier time going into options and disabling the automatically log in option. Then restart and log in and then enable it again.

Lenuxe,

if you cannot browse the Sporepedia, then that sounds like a completely different problem. Are you able to log in at all? Or connect to the Spore server at all?

Might have to try a complete reinstall if your Sporepedia is inop.

Same here. Unisntalling and reinstalling just seemed to have made my problems worse, and I've yet to hear back from tech support on this.
My problem is that it gives me the error message when I actually try and log in, after putting in my e-mail and password, not when I hit the "register" button.

Mind doesn't do that. It only shows one prompt at a time instead of one on top of the other.

When I get that error window, I don't see any other error window before it, even a split second before it. It just goes from one window to the other.

How do you do that? I do that, and the screen underneath the "Login Failed" screen disappears! This problem is really fruatrating me... I want to comment on other peoples' creations, spread the imaginative creations I make to the Internet Spore.com, add friends, Make Sporecasts, Search Online, and download creations - but now I cannot even do that. I don't know if this is the case, but I downloaded assymetry and exoskeleton parts today, which used EA Download Manager, and I am not sure if that downloaded program is preventing from me logging in, or as you said, the game. Is there any possible way to delete EA Download Manager, and at least let me log in?
I, of course like other people, don't want to buy, oh let's say, maybe a $99.99 Spore game, just to find out, 1 in a ten-thousand that, that game might not be bugged. I've tried your method before, but it never works. We have two computers- one with a fast Spore on it, with I never get to use, and a laptop with Spore on it. The fast computer is a Mac, and the laptop is Windows. The Mac computer works fine, but the Windows computer does not. Like I said, I cannot log in at ALL. If you can quote back some answers to me, if you have any, that'd be helpful.
Maxis, fix this bug!!!

They SERIOUSLY gotta fix this bug, if it IS a bug. It might be a hack, or something, or a disorder- I am not sure. Like some people said, uninstalling and reinstalling is a huge risk for your computer or laptop:
1) You could lose your creations.
2) You could lose your Sporecasts.
3) You could lose your friends on Spore.
I downloaded assymetry and exoskeletion, which requires EADM, and I don't know if that is the case that caused all of this. I've got no more ideas for what is WRONG with this bug, or hack, or whatever it is. Some smart person, "one who is doing his/her job" should at least check to see if this is causing a problem for other people, instead of twiddling their thumbs thinkng, we are getting good business here. They should care about the concerned people, and not thereselves (the tech people), and also not send messages like: "We are not responsible for your problems," after you waited for like 2 weeks for a seven worded letter. and a signature.
And since I love Spore and creating things, now I cannot share my imaginative creations to the world, until those 'tech-fixers' or whatever they are called, get up, and actually walk over to a computer and fix the whole conflict! I think this is angering many people out there, and from many Sporums, people are P.OED from this problem.
So, you EA Downloader Manager tech-fixers, why don't you take a stand for what is right, and fix this bug or hack, to make people actually HAPPY, and not angry, like many of these Sporum's. Someone in the world has GOT to fix this problem, someday, because I am kinda dedicated to Spore and creating my dragons, and if I reinstall it, it might ruin everything. SOMEONE HAS GOT TO FIX IT, SOMEHOW IN THE WORLD!!!
