I think it would be a great idea to make an expansion pack that gave multiplayer. Especially in creature. For instance if you get extinct your out of that game. Then one guy could be an epic. Finally the first 5 (give or take) people to advance face each other in the next stage and so on. I think this would be a great idea and hope it is used. This would add even more to the replay value.

It will never happen because Spore doesn't have a great fighting system.

So Many Possibilities With This.

Two creatures playing as allies, each individually controlled, could expand their reach together, charming or killing off other species.

A meet in the middle bloodbath - playing to get to the middle, most evolved and destroy the other player, and gain the planet.

Alliances could mean Possible inter species mating (right before tribal? unless editing is changed and allowed at later times). Would mean two players controlling one creation, unless this is considered final option and one or both players would have to be endgame.

As well as others I'm sure.

It sounds like such a blast, and something to be looked into.

The only problem is the lag, so I am guessing multilayer is going to be very limited.

You could fix that by having it lan/buddy only games. Colonize the galaxy together. But its too simple of a "game" to make that even worthwhile.

This really isnt a game so much as a tool to play with the stuff you make in the creators. And since it is so creator focused its a shame that the number of parts/coloring is so limited. Add to that the broken nature of the sporepedia. This either downloads too much crap that i dont want, and is extremely tedious to get rid of. Or it wont let you have access to your own sporecast with the stuff you do want downloaded. Oh lets not forget the 2 major bugs where the stuff you made in the creature editor wont show up in "my stuff" and how there are even some simple creatures/spaceships that wont upload to the server.

im making myself depressed about the game again...

admittedly, there are flaws. Will always be flaws with anything.

making it playable only when both players are available and willing to do so would eliminate possibility of games going completely out of control.

Limiting it to Creature Phase would reduce playtime, and give clear endgame.

Would have to be done lan or buddy only system if playing co-op. Playing to win could be done randomly, but obviously more fun when you can gloat and hold it over a friends head.

It would be nice to play in a world where all creatures had at least some larger AI. Creature phase being what it is with stagnant nests - Multiplayer would take care of this.
