I paid $10 for the Creature Creator. When we bought the actual game, we had to uninstall it. This was very disappointing. My oldest daughter loves the game - which I can't/won't play because of the 1 account per key thing, but I digress.
My youngest daughter, who is 5, is too young to play the full game, but absolutely LOVED the Creature Creator. So, not only did I spend $10 for the Creature Creator and can now no longer use it because we installed Spore, I have a 5-year-old who is sad that she can't create "monsters" anymore. So, what gives? I thought Spore was going to cost around $50? When, actually, I paid $60 (plus tax.)
I sincerely hope that EA will either give me my $10 back or let me have the Creature Creator and the Spore game on the same computer.
Me and my 5-year-old would rather have the game back.
Oh, yeah, thanks a lot for making her cry.

You can still create Creatures like you did in the Creature Creator.
When you first load up the game, and you have the galaxy on the screen to the left are the options like 'Play', Create' and 'Share'.
You just need to go into the Create option.
The only problem is I dodn't think it gives you unlimited DNA points like the Creature Creator did which is a major bummer. Hopefully they can fix that in a patch.

Thanks for that, better than nothing, I suppose. I'll give it a try.

a little folder sharing options, hiding files, might be able to get both on the same comp. Try moving all the files associated with the creature creator to its own separate folder.
My guess is that SPORE will try to add in and install in the same folder.
I have yet to purchase the full SPORE game but i do have the 10 dollar creature creator. I am having trouble uploading any new creatures as of the release.
I think the main purpose of the original 10 dollar creature creator was for the exposure and the ability to play with the game early.
that in itself was worth the 10 dollars. as I am featured twice in sporepedia, I hope that my creatures are not lost in the transition.
Also this dumb inability to upload is quite frustrating.
Hope I could help.

I lost my creatures because it makes you get rid of CC. Though it shows that you still have your creatures in sporepedia, but you can't edit them or really do anything with them.

It never had unlimited DNA, it just felt like it did because they had the parts/stats working differently (much better imo!) Tip for your lil'n to be able to create freely like she did before:
Press Ctrl+Shift+C in the creature builder to bring up the Cheat menu. Type AddDNA a bunch of times to add loads more.
Apaarently these creatures won't be uploadable (thats a tale for another thread) but at least she'll be happy again.

Thanks! Those are great tips. I figured out how to get her in the editors. I haven't been playing I'm so irritated over the one account thing. I got past the cellular stage and stopped. So, I hadn't really been in the game much. I got my older daughter to show me what she had available now (she is in Civ stage) and now the 5-year-old is happily making monsters (and a building or two.) My big one doesn't like the little ones stuff in her profile, but she must deal with it. I have spoken...
Still, I understand her being annoyed at it.

I was horrified to hear about the 1 account thing... so completely unfair and pointless. I'd hate to share my profile with someone else! We even bought an extra CC for house guests to make and upload some creatures (and hopefully go out and buy it!) but I guess we can't use that anymore.
If they're going to dig their heels in about 1 account per copy I have no idea why they don't allow CC accounts to login to the CC portion of the game. Madness.
I'm glad your little one is happy again though!

Thanks again!
I personally think they should allow people who bought the CC to have a second account.

I installed the full game at home and the Creature Creator at work because the creature creator in the full game is so limiting I couldn't enjoy it anymore. However today I created a creature at work and shared it but I don't see it online. Also I can't download other creatures off the web site anymore which sucks. Have they totally disabled the usefulness of the stand alone creator? I hope not because it's WAY more fun than the one in the full game.

Unfortunaty its affecting the game as well as the CC. Its a combination of the complexity bug, which is preventing creatures with +7 complexity from uploading... and the rediculous new DNA prices which have caused many CC creatures to be worth over #2000 DNA and thus rejected by the server.
More about it here: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/1532.page
Hopefully we can get them to re-think the new prices, otherwise making creatures will never be as fun again

I don't see what the problem is, why don't you just create another user account on your computer and install the creature creator.

Yah, me, too. I was really disappointed about it, as I had some very nice creations that I couldn't upload because they were at max complexity. I had thought when you uninstalled the game, there would still be a folder with your creatures in it, but apparently, that isn't the case. So, for anyone else who hasn't uninstalled it, be sure to make another copy of your creations before you install the full game.

wow so not only do u have to uninstall CC but it gets rid off all your creature too. now that i know this my thoughts about having the game are a little different, i still want it but am a little reluctant to buy it. EA should release an update/patch to be able to have both games(if possible).

It didn't seem to erase my creatures. I didn't share mine even. I had backed them up once I think maybe but what I didn't expect was when I was playing the game I ended up having to play against some of them and holy crap that was tough.
