And here's where it became mixed even further, got a chance to play started a new species and was going through the earlier stages...got to the point of the first nest migration in creature stage...ran over to the new nest and my creation stopped dead. Little question marks floating around him as the animation 'cut scene' refused to process. Had to alt-tab out and shut down the process.

So let me get this right.... in order to get a PATCH to work, I have to first backup my saved games, uninstall SPORE and then reinstall, restore my saved games, then download the patch again, and then it will work?!

ARE F-ING KIDDING ME?! This is what I have to spend my time doing in order to get a patch, that is supposed to solve problems, to work???????

Thanks a bunch.

Oh.. and in November I need to pay $10 more or what ever it is to get more creature parts?! SCREW YOU EA.

I am about done with SPORE, I had such high hopes for the game... and I am just pissed off at this point. Guess its back to World of Warcraft, at least they fix the issues in a timely manner...........

On every planet but my homeworld, there is no longer any water, regardless of whether there should or shouldn't be, so I'm PISSED now, especially b/c the game should have fixed that.

Edit: I'm going back to WoW as well, 3.0 gives us preatty much everything from the EP except death knights and Northrend.

patch did not fix my problem of buggy planets

see post: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/8627.page#95223

summary, planets of T1 or greater terra score are identified as less that T1 and are not showing resource types. only fix is to place a colony, destroy colony, then spore will show correct terra score of planet and allow the use of such items as a monolith.

another patch. another EPIC FAIL!!!

I'm not gonna install it. The game ran fine on the original 1.00 version for me. 1.01 messed up a lot of things. I see 1.02 continues on with that tradition.

Maxis, you need to escape from EA. They are destroying your once good name.

I thought this was supposed to be for feedback on the new patch, not a b***h session

Any how, here is the problem I have (so far, may be more)

I have always read about the game crashing when zooming out from the home planet,
but have never had this happen until patch 1.02.

Now, almost every time I zoom out of home planet the game will crash.

Also, now all of the planets listed in the sporpedia under space stage appear with
only a question mark instead of a picture of the planet. If I actually fly to and zoom full in on a planet, it then has it's pic back in sporpedia. I tried the soloution mentioned here:

http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/0/4706.page#42185

It did not fix the planet pics missing, and as I was deleting the package files i noticed two graphicscache package files.
One of them was graphicscache.101 or similar, and one was just plain graphics cache. I am thinking that the patch made all of the stuff in the graphics cache in-compatible, so it will have to be re-generated.

I have tried zooming in on the home planet only one time since re-generating the package files, and had no crash. Then, did a save game, and quit. Been hesitant to try it again, I had no need to go to surface of home world.

Other than that, I have had ZERO problems with Spore. This was the FIRST time I had any problems; the game has always ran fine and stable, until this latest (1.02) patch.

That's all,
bye for now...

No, I didn't read the 9 pages before I posted...sorry.

I'm hoping this is where the bug reporting is going...

I noticed in Civ Stage when placing colony buildings, the game seems to think you can always place another building, even when there are no spots left. The turrets still grey out when I've placed all I can.

The end won't be pretty, but the ride down 'll be super fun!

I thought I'd share a couple of my issues, and steps I blundered over to solve them.
I have an ATI card, read if this applies to your card (Im hoping this is a generic card fix).

To deal with the following errors:
"Unable to open new file"
--
"blue screen crashing in space mode (mostly on zooming into planets, but may work for other random crashes)"

I had the "Unable to open new file" error on this patch. My problem was that I didn't have enough space on my primary drive. I freed up about 6Gb, and it installed fine. I did uninstall spore and re-installed it before applying the 1.2 patch.
I also had a crashing issue with both patches. In space mode, it would 'blank' blue screen me randomly. There was a slight crashing pattern with zooming in on planets. I was using the latest ATI catalyst drivers 8.9 and soon after 8.10) for my AT all in wonder 9600xt. I removed the ATI software, and rolled back sequentially, all the way to 8.4 (the one that worked). The spots where it use to blue screen me (zooming into planets [loading new planet data]), it now just stalls a bit, as its loading the scene, then goes to the next scene, no crashes.
