The java alone took up 90% of my CPU, it was LAGGY, that's why i couldn't do better.

Even after clearing the cache, both Safari 4 Developer Preview (5526.11.2), and Safari 4 Public Beta (5528.16) refused to load it. It goes through the screen with the white text at the bottom that says "Loading applet… Please wait…", but then the area where the applet is just goes gray, instead of going to the 'loading creatures screen' like it does in Firefox. I'm running the Mac versions of these browsers, but I don't think that should really matter.

Yeah, it was the same for me too. I sometimes had to click on the planets 3 or 4 times to reveal the creature.

Hi.

Now Chapter 2 is easier to complete.

When an enemy ufo touches you, it doesn't capture you any more: you are "rejected" instead:
i.e.: +200 to your current Altitude. All enemies restart at the corners, but your total time is not reset.
So it is easier to land (but not to achieve the best time of the entire universe).

Safari: I'm sorry, I can test my applets with all browers but only on a win pc, not mac os.
If you can post the message (if any) written in the java console may be I can see what happens.

And last but not least: sorry for my bad English... In Italian I can speak better

Hi, all.

The 4th chapter of Sporewars is online here: http://www.rifo.it/processing/index.html .

In the first chapter ("Discover") you discovered all creatures living in the solar system.
In the second chapter ("Landing") you landed on one of the planets of this solar system.
In the third chapter ("Broken vehicle") you composed your vehicle in the dark...
In this new chapter ("The Door") exploring the planet with your vehicle you found a closed door. You must open it, but you have to discover how to do it...
(This chapter is in 3D and uses openGL libraries).

Hey RifoItaly,
I really want to play Chapter 4 but I can't really get past level 1 !!
Even when I beat it, it said it wasn't the best score and would not let me advance.

Man, you have got to add difficutly levels... like Easy mode or something, otherwise I fear that many people will turn away in frustration.

The games are great, just make them a little more accessible.

Maybe have a "cheat" mode where you can always play any level, but you can't be entered into the High scores. And if you can, a list of the best scores with names would be awesome (say you got a high score, you can put your name in it etc).

It does let you advance, but it's not clear, when you complete it it opens the next level, but it doesn't say that you can go on. I found this out by error.

But (I'm sorry) you should reload the main page of SporeWars before.

Applets use cookies to save personal records (the best of the entire universe is saved on the server), the main page read cookies when loaded, so you have to refresh it when you complete a Chapter in order to let know to the main page that you have completed it.
Note that if you clean cookies in your browser, your records are lost.
Now I'm going to change this behaviour, in order to check cookies whenever you click on a button "Start chapter..."
