Based on what you've seen of the early versions of Spore (which, according to an ex-Maxis intern, were NOT pre-rendered), which version would you rather have?

Oh I know, don't feel bad about it.
You just happened to find me in a bitter mood.

There is no straight forward answer to your qeustion.
While the most vocal group will say yes.

There are a lot of people that would drive a stake through our heart over it.

If you are wondering. Yes I would prefer to have bought the '2005' version. If such a thing really existed.

i wouldnt want 05 spore i mean we saw only a little of cell,creature and space and think we barlet so anything about tribe or civ he didnt even see other tribes in tribal i like the 08 version just isnt very stable if it never crashed it would be one of the best games ive ever played

if Spore has tought me anything then its: don't trust any presentation about this game because that's about the only thing where Spore succeeds: it will always be visually pleasing and has possibilities to do mainly that.

i think i see more functionality in the 2005 demo (parts placement matters for example) and more sandbox mode as opposed to the shallow-annoying gameplay we see today. so i'll vote for 2005 as a theoretical response.
