I couldn't for the life of me figure out where to e-mail this letter so I decided to just post it here publicly. This is just me venting my opinions about the pricing for the new 'Cute and Creepy' parts pack.

Dear EA/Maxis,
The recent announcement of the ‘Cute and Creepy’ parts pack for SPORE is very good news, knowing that there will be new content for SPORE in the coming years. But I will not be buying this parts pack due to the price. $20 dollars is too much for the small numbers of parts/content. In perspective, I paid $10 for the creature creator and it contained much more parts and content than the new pack. Not only that, I paid $80 dollars for the Galactic Edition, which was not worth it. The making of DVD was not long enough, the art book was too short, and the National Geographic program was not worth the extra cost considering it was free and on TV. However, the box was cool. I also paid $10 for the awful iPod touch/ iPhone SPORE Origins. I have already spent about $100 dollars on the SPORE franchise and having to pay another $20 for a small parts pack is not worth it. I fear that if I do purchase this pack, that it will only encourage EA/Maxis to make future parts packs that have the same ‘high cost/ low content’ ratio, and if I have to keep spending $20 for each parts pack then I will not do so. To some the cost may not be an issue, but in these tough economic times and the fact that I have very little money, and the cost is too high to make it worthwhile. A lot of other games do this for free. $5-8 maybe $10 dollars would be worth it. I feel as though not having it be free, to those who put in the extra investment in the Galactic Edition is just thumbing your nose to those who were willing to do so, considering the fact that there are many fans who spent money on the game rather than pirated it. The initial investment should of been the only price you pay. I don't want to pay $100 worth more in parts pack and then another large sum for more mini games and additional game play on top the $100 I already spent. So over time, the total could be a lot higher for very little.

I just wanted to express my concerns and opinions.

Thank you,
Forrest

Like the tone but disagree with

"The initial investment should of been the only price you pay. I don't want to pay $100 worth more in parts pack and then another large sum for more mini games and additional game play on top the $100 I already spent."

I would go for more of a
"Once initially purchased subsequent investment in the franchise should be maintained at a very low level, making sure that part packs contain at least a impression of value for money. This is especially the case considering that the parts pack is going to be given away free with some new copies of spore.".

If you are writing the letter I thought the free parts pack issue may add weight to the argument.

I support this letter to. I will not be getting the parts pack due to the horrendous content vs cost ratio.

The free parts pack to new buyers also SPORE me off. First game i bought from Maxis and probably my last. Well unless they start caring about customer relations. I feel bad for all Galactic editioners.

But then what about those who have already bought the game? Are we just SOL?

This letter is golden. Well, you know. I'll try to download the parts pack from elsewhere if it actually costs more than $9.99

Meh. I'm tired of Spore, but I think I got my money's worth of it, being addicted to it for six months and all. Bye Spore! I'll miss you! (Irrelevent opportunity for advertising: I have a blog.

This goes outside but hey I think it sums up how much care your letter may receive quite nicely:

Maybe we ought to make this into one of those "Campaigns to Make Spore Better!"

If you agree with this then please say so we just may get the price ratcheted down.

Go figure, no response from EA/Maxis. Does anyone know exactly where I could e-mail this letter?

The solution: go to China, hire some Chinese game developers make a duplicate Spore, but better, called Pollen, have the Chinese export their game (all based on the rumor that the Chinese government does not adhere to international copyright treaties).

1. if you think Spore could be much better, support the CAMPAIGN TO MAKE SPORE BETTER!
2. an open compilation of player´s suggestions to make Spore as great as it can be with a Spore SuperPack!
