Cell:i think that for cell there are just a few things that could be added. maybe make it to where we could pollanate our creations into games. also, i say there should be more parts. and finally, i think the evoolution happens to fast.

Civilization: i think that the civilization stage should have a lot more than just land water and air vehicles. their should be like mechanized assault bots, submarines, and musch more. also, thre should be a more intricate tech tree. we should have to put sporebucks into a research team to discover how aviation works to devlope aircraft. also, we should be able to unlock a missile tree to where we can develope new types of missiles with the final being the nuclear warhead or something even more devastating. then, maybe the cities could be more intricate. like, you can design walls to be built on the outside that could serve as a line of defense, then maybe add towers or something. then, we should be able to expand our cities limits to accomadate more room for more buildings which equals more money to expand and so on. also, we should be able to build other types of buildings. like offices to handle our exports and such, nuclear factorys to account for energy, and thats another thing. our cities apparently run on thin air, because there is no source of energy shown. i think something should be done about that.

Space:
where do i begin on this one.
1. i think that to begin with that your own colony shouldnt try to murder your wallet and watch it bleed with high prices. youre own colony should be making it to where you actually have to pay less than others.

2. [color=red] THIS ONE IS MY MOST DESIRED!!!!
when you have the ability to create spaceships by the masses, wy would you just have one person out there. you should be able to hire more pilots to go out and establish colonies, trade spice( in which you get 75% of the profit, its mainly usefull when you have like 30 colonies) and also help you with your colonies,as in biodisasters, attacks, raids, etc. also, you should be able to assign them to certain planets to stand guard and watch for attackers and such. also, they should be able to survey the races that you have made an alliance with to survey what they would pay for types of spice, and they should be able to go out and find new races that are up to at least tribal, Civilization, or space, so that to where you could go out and find them to create an alliance, advance them to the next stage, or you can be evil and destroy their race to colonize their planets for youre benefeits. and finally, they can go out and find planets near one of youre owned star systems for what type of spice they and also survey their terraformable level.

3. we should be able to take asteroid belts and turn them into planets, or use a gravity belt to transport it to another star system to form a planet there, and the spice production would come from spice stored inside the asteroids.

4. if you we cannot afford the gravity belt metioned above, we should be able to buy a certain type of colony that will rotate along with the asteroid belt chosenn and will use a tractor beam to pick up an asteroid and mine the spice from it. the downside benefit will be that you cant maintain a colony with a high level spice containment, but as this one is ment for this, the colony has an extra storage capacity to it that will be able to store a capacity of 15 spice. the downside of this would again be that it would more suspectable to attacks and raids. raids because there would be less chance of defense with this but this idea is next(6.) . attacks because the whole colony would have to be somehow self-contained, so the self-containment device would be more open and vulnerable to attacks then the normal ones on planets.

5. gas giants are useless, so i propose that we can take the above mentioned colonies and use them to extract the gas inside them. to discover what kind of gas there is that way you can know what youre getting out of this extraction. the gas will be put into tanks instead of crates, and can then be used for terraforming, if they have deadly gasses they can be put on an enemy world to possibly decrease the terra level or kill all of the residents, then you could clear the gas and bring youre people into the cities, and you can also use this in idea 7.

6. on ideas 4&5 these colonies are very vulnerable to any type of attack, so there could be a revolving defense station that could be placed to defend these colonies that isnt an uber turret, but like a hanger that could deploy units to fend off invaders, and you would only be needed if the defense station was losing which meens less annoying calls about raids and attacks. this station could also be used on regular planets to drastically decrease how much you are needed

7.i earlier mentioned how we could use gas giants. well, i think that nebuleas should be placed throughout the galaxy. in this way, there would be more stars generated for more planets and such. but the use of the gas giants and this is take some of the gas tanks and send them into a certain quadrant to increase the star creation amounts. or what could be done is that there be designated areas where a new star could be created and and you send in the gas and then send in a bomb that creates the inward pull to make the amount of gravity more dense which would then lead to nuclear fusion happening and so on.

8. there should be an option that allows you to buy an implosion bomb that lets you send a bomb into a star and create a black hole thate would randomly pick a black hole to send you to when you go through it.

9.have you ever noticed how it seems that every empire can send these large fleets to attack you or another planet but when you attack someone its just you and five other ship (at max) and it takes you forever to destroy their entire civilization. well i think we should have the option that when we go to any of our colonies residing on a t2 or t3 planet there should be anothere button option when you communicate that reads Fleet Options or something like that that lets you purchase a fleet to command to attack or help you attack (this would be the most helpfull thing ever for killing off the Grox).

i have other ideas but ill stop here as not to be rude.

Ok, first up-

****A WATER STAGE!****

They showed it in the trailer as being a stage before you went on to dry land. I believe there may have even been talk about sticking to the water for your entire evolution (space Faring Dolphins anyone?).

****A PLANT EDITOR!****

Fix it please!

****SEEDING A PLANET WITH LIFE AND BEING ABLE TO START A NEW GAME FROM THAT PLANET****

-In this suggestion, a player would be able to "seed" a particular planet with life in order to *start a new game* on said world.
-This would allow for the player to terraform the planet as he wished.
-Once "seeded" the planet becomes unchangeable from any game except for the one you would start on it.
-In addition to becoming unchangeable, the spice type of the planet must be Red Spice.

****NEST BUILDING/MATING/EVOLVING****

As mentioned previously the ability to build a nest where you wish would be good fun. To consider:

-Protecting the nest (as was shown in trailer)
-Searching for a mate, as opposed to having one available.
-Return the system displayed in the trailer which involved investing points into the creature's brain as opposed
to just automatically gaining sentience.

Create an completely robotic race from another galaxy that is so evil even the grox fear them, a race that has over 1,000,000 systems as they come from the andromeda galaxy.

I have some ideas

1. I space stage on the timeline it will say when you start a war with an empire but it won't say when it ended. This needs to be fixed.

2. Release the hidden cell parts and a cell creator for the main screen.

3. Release the 2005 version of spore for people who like that one better in an expansion pack.

I SIGN!
Ive got an idea too! forgive me if its been already been posted or if ive interupted a conversation.

Enhanced vehicles:
like special mech arms and legs: the would be a leg base and a arm base were you can add armor pieces weapons etc... also being able to to make longer Tread tracks. more realistic weapons like a gattling gun or a rocket box phaser lasers or pulse plasma canons, solar panels, tank barrels, or also having the options of like a flame thrower cannon. being able to select what kind of ammo comes out, were it comes out and at wat rate would be cool. maybe more military textures or plane hull textures would be great. they should have amphibious vehicles, planes that land, take off, fly at different heights , or even have dogfights. well i guess thats all so far, this thread is the beast!

i would agree with you on this idea. really the guns at this point do nothing but just increase your damage radius or firepower or whatever you call it. thre should really be more realistic weapons that have their own unique ability to them each. like make their a mobile rocket system and have the ability to launch a sattalite into space that could track enemy positions and such. but again, good ideas

yeah, We should have like different kinds of vehicles like:
-scout: Fast, great for spice conquering, diplomatic messengers, and most of all, cheap
-Armored Personnel Carriers/transports: carry troops/vehicles/supplies*
-medium tank: standard Unit, medium cost, basically medium everything!
Heavy overkill Tank: slow, High fire power, mini auto-defence turrets(maybe),
These could be available in a advanced/expert mode.

*Troops: we could be able to make soldiers, they would carry guns(might be too much, but with modifiable guns)
they would need to be carried around by APCs and unleashed in the cities.

I thats all for now, until the next idea spree, I guess.

Any ways, awesome Ideas! these threads are so well organised!

A soundtrack editor that can have mp3 files on your computer uploaded to it. I really want this as a boss theme for my GA mission.

My suggestion for Aquatic Stage, which has been on 4 forums, and was first thought of before Spore even came out. Heck, it's even a 12-page pack of doodles! Also, I'll highlight my favorite ideas certain colors, but they aren't the titles, but parts of sentences:
BLUE = Great addition - something that would make the game a lot better
OLIVE = Much required improvement - something that is very much missed
RED = Absoulutely Major must-add!! - something which´s absence detracts great deals from the overall experience

You start out in the Abyss as a cell that has been crushed into a Sea Creature. You can be a bottom feeder or a swimmer, and the parts evoke features of real sea creatures on Earth. The abilities are Swim, Sneaky Swim, Boost Swim, and Swim up (exactly what you think they are in creature stage). When you reach Terestrial (Land) Creature Stage, your Sea Creature Parts default to 1 Sing (herbivore mouth), 1 Bite (Carnivore mouth), or 1 Sing 1 Bite (Omnivore), eventually resetting to the way they were at the end of Aquatic Stage. If you are an amphibious Creature, you can found a village on the coast, with the main hut in the water, for protection. You can also have new powers for going from Abyssal to Teresstrial, like Crispy Critter (predatorial, unleash a blast of fire), Mate Sonar (Neutral, instantly enter the creature editor by attracting a mate from afar), and Tickle Treaty (nice, lets you instantly befriend a creature with a yellow-blue smiley face (to help ally)). More to come! But, this is my original idea for an "Abyssal Stage", use these above to add to it.

SPORE: ABYSSAL

Here's what:

Celly the ninjaest cell in the sea gets smart. Now, since youv'e downloaded the pack, you get a little "Welcome to Abyssal Phase! Do you want to try Abyssal later (use galaxy) or play now (Press Check and go to next screen of bla-blee-bla-bloo-blee of stuff and your big choice)? After that's over, you can choose "Where to go" If you choose "Land" which has two little icons of the Landfall achievement to either side, or the "Sea" choice which shows the icon of a cell going into an Abyss is what matters. Now let's say you choose "Sea" Your cell goes too fast after getting smart and realizes he'll die a 3D creature on the shore. He weeps over his loss but then uses his brain and all his might to get back home (He flounders back like a dying fish across the beach and does a nice, but ridiculous, flip back into the water). This ninjalicious endeavor winds him up speeding into the Abyss *Dun-DUN-DUN-dun!* where he feels safe from the beach. But it winds up those ultrapressurizing depths get to him! He's being crushed back into a grain of sand as you enter his brains to prove the Sea wrong.....

Early Sea Creature Editor:

This is kind of like the Early Land Creature Editor except minus the seaweed. What you have is a landscape of the Abyss, with weird seaweed and scary Hydrothermal Vents/Sea Volcanoes under bleak gray rocks, huge abyssal plateaus the mark the continents and islands themselves, some seashells, and picth-black water with beautiful sunrays streaking out from above. You have Cell Parts, fins, tentacles, the Suctopod, the Geckonator, and the ExoSkel limbs without those that are actually skeletal. Fins, Cillia, Jets, and Flagellas are swim parts, which are technically jumping that gets you swimming higher up. Tentacles, the Suctoped and Flagellae give the Sneak Swim, which lengthens the duration of swimming upwards, but slows down movement. Cillia and fins give quick turns, which allows the player to speed up during Sneak Swim, and stabilizes him during Speed Swim, activated by Jets and The Geckonator. Stats are the same, for the fins count as posing, while others dance. Painting is the same too. But, there's a new stat: Shine, activated by bioluminescent parts, which lures and deters. Shine also adds to Charms effect. Once your'e done here, Celly is a grain of sand, and a forceful explosion lets him out of his shell, and bubbles fly everywhere, revealing him at last!

Game Play:

The playing of this stage is a combo of the Cell and Creature Stage, and navigation is simillar to Creature and Space, but your sea creature can also be a bottom feeder, walking around like in Creature Stage. Fruit is now Seaweed, and Schools avidly swim around. There are three levels, one for each brain uprgrade:
The Abyss (Filled with creatures that love bioluminescense, may also have very scary fish)
The Reef (background of Most of Cell, nice water and coral everywhere, beware of Epics!)
The Coast (End of Cell, looks like the Early Creature Editor's background, subject to Land Creature attacks!)

After a long battle, or chasing after migrating schools of your species, or maybe even some part finding, you decide you should be better, so you crawl back to your nest (lots of seaweed perched on a Hydrothermal Vent, nests should be where schools would rest, but no travelling for your lover!) to get laid. Reproduction is alot like Seaworld shows, flipping and flipping, madly in loooove! But that can only mean you go into the

Sea Creature Editor:
Based on where you are in evolution, your creature will be in either the Abyss background (Early Sea Creature), Reef Background (Colorful Coral, pristine, tropical water, and nice blue-ish rocks), or Coast Background (Early Terrestrial Creature Editor, with Jagged rocks and storms up above....). You have Fins (Slugging parts,Tentacles, Advanced Cell Movement Parts, Fins, Fin hands, etc.), Sea Legs (Ha-ha! Get it! These are just ExoSkel limbs posed like Crab Legs),Mouthes (Some land mouthes, includes new mouthes and Advanced Cell Mouthes), Feet (for crawling, dancing, and charging on the Sea Floor), Details (includes Bioluminescence! Other than that, nothing new here), Eyes and senses (Blank fish eyes, Weird Shark eyes, and New Sneses plus uses for them, other than that, it's recycling from the Land Editor), and Weapons (Same as on land, plus new ones and Advanced Cell Weapons). Woof, that's cluttered! Also there's a test drive that uses the new locomotion pattern. And Paint, then there's the

Achievements:

If only they meant something, well, here goes....

Welcome to the Sea: Finish Cell and take another dip for the first time.(The Icons next to the "Sea" choice way back)
Mellow Minnow: Befriend 20 Sea Creatures in Abyssal (Shows a Cycloptic, bug-mouth fish shaking hands with a ten-eyed, two headed octopus)
Sharky Sinner: Extinct 20 Sea Creatures in Abyssal (Shows a four-eyed shark with suckers eating the Mellow Minnow characters in a sandwich)
Sporemu!: Beat Abyssal in less than an hour (Shows a three-eyed killer whale creature jump into a hoop, with the rest of the picture blurred to show speed)
Fish Tank: Make 20 Zoo Planets with Sea Creatures in them (Shows a fish welded to a land creature)
Fish outta Water: Make it to land (Shows a fish with legs in the Landfall picture)
Fins for Wings: Go from fish to all-star Space Captain in a single game (Shows a parody of the cover for Salmon of Doubt)
Hey! Highlight the empty space below!
**************************Secret Achievments******************************************
Kraken: Make a Creature with 4 Attack stats Maxed out in the Abyssal Stage (Shows a giant squid attacking a Spaceship)
Siren: Have 4 Maxed out Social Abilities in Abyssal (Shows a fish with flowing blond hair singing on a rock)
Jorgmund Serpent: Evolve a Sea Creature with all the Vertebrae (shows a Sea Creature wrapped around the logo, biting his tail)
Leviathan: Use your amphibious powers to charm the Sea Monster in the Terestrial Phase (Shows you shaking hands with the Sea Monster)
Scylla: Make a Sea Creature with Four heads! (shows a Sea Creature with four smiling heads at once)

Epics and Amphibians and Tube Worms, Oh my!:

Amphibians are powerful land Creatures that swim around harsh coasts with a hankerin' for fishies, while Epics prowl the Reefs with bad intentions, and Tube worms do serious damage to those who venture to giant Hydrothermal Vents, or aquatic Spice geysers on foot or by fin. Enough said here.

Finale:

After braving the Stormy Coast and its jagged rocks, you warily take a breath of fresh air, and as that flows through you, your aquatic parts are now but diddly squat now in terms of power (lv.4 feet have 1 dance/charge/sneak/sprint/jump, and all the other stuff, bioluminescence is just shiny charm), but regain their power later on in the stage, and you can return to the water if you like, but it when it comes time for Tribal, land is the place to be! After that phase, you can build

Underwater Civilizations:

Your ex-chieftain of your ex-sea creature tribe finds glowing rocks, he likes them and brings them back to your civ, which has conquered 6 cities, and they learn to make Underwater Cities with them! You have submarine vehicles (sea vehicles with under-the-radar capabilities, but cannot do economic stuff.) and bubbled cities! When you reach Space, Underwater colonies are possible too! And you can use the Sea Creature Tweaker and the Sea Creature Creator! You can even find Seaworlds to colonize and terraform! You can style planets with Mystic (floating, magic landmarks) Series terrasculptors, and Planet Color Styles like Teddy Bear, Bird, Tiger Stripes, and more when I can list them! There are new Cuneiform Planets, Paradise Planets ( Beautiful but T-Negative3, inhospitable and unterraformable, but can be terrasculpted), Wasteland Planets (Ugly, but T-5 and Prosperous, terrasculptable, but unterraformable), and more when I can list them. Also, your powers as a sea creature can directly affect your Captain, and you can make amphibious and water-based adventures! Also, you have many new sea plants!

Body Types (Adds attributes, aestethic coolness, but requires 250 DNA):

Shells:
Spinedler (Makes the body covered in vicious ridges of armored spikes):
+4 Health, -3 Speed
Mailscales (makes the body covered in scales, like a fish with rough skin):
+2 Health, -1 Speed/Melee (based on which parts are more of)
Crabby (Makes the body crustacean-like):
Equals all stats to lvl. 3 (Speed, Strike, Charm, Health (now 4))
Snailmaille (Patterned shell with uncovered extremities, mainly middle):
+3 Health/Charm, -2 Speed/Melee (Based on which parts there are more of)
Scales/Bonelessness:
NoSpiner (No changes externally, gives total freedom of the spine (turns it into a arm, but can become symetrical and parts can be attached to it): At a cost, you can't extend something that isn't there, without duplicating it like an arm):
-3 Health, Immuntiy to Spit or Charge's aftereffects
Circlescales (Makes shiny scales on the body):
+1 Health and Speed, -3 Sneak and Sprint
Pentascales (Makes dull scales on the body):
Opossite of Circlescales
Mardigrascales (Makes the body randomly flare differing colors, and turn invisible if moving slow enough):
-3 Health, maxes out sneak and social stats of your choice (click on two when the bar turns blue), makes bioluminescense an instant for anything, but needs a huge cooldown
Pulseslime (Makes the body glossy and oily, with electricity emanating from it):
+3 Speed, Spit, and the ability to disorient enemies for a second with any attack, but requires more recharge (gives more power as a Captain), -3 Health and Socials
Spikescales (Pufferfish spines):
+3 Health, Strike, and the ability to inflict half the damage of an opponent's attack each time you are hit, -3 Speed and Socials (Less power as a Captain)
NoBoneSkeleton (Same as NoSpiner, but the whole body acts as an arm that can be extended for free, but needs to be copied like an arm to make any extra arms. To have any effect on stats whatsoever, it should be combined with another bodytype):
10 $
Bonyfish (makes it thin enough for bones to stick out, and makes the creature transparent, ex. Seahorses and Hatchetfish):
+3 Speed and speed-related abilities, -3 Health and Socials, along with Attack
Exoskeleton Bodies (w00t! Patch 3 activated):
+4 Social and Fighting, -4 Health and Speed
Like the Exoskeleton Limbs, except you can't have any normal limbs. All parts are skeleton (spine exposed, hands are skeletal, mouth is a skull), or exoskeleton parts, which can replace the spine or limbs. But how does life enter a piece of bones? Simple, either his eyes (or eye-holes) glow his colors with voodoo magic, he has a layer of meat wrapping around his bones (which is where patterns are put), or he is a zombie (two knobs control his meat content and eyeshine)! This costs 450 $ to make, since it takes alot for a creature to survive like that.

Eyes/Senses:

Weird Eyes:
Hynoteyes (Adds a little bit of pow to your Social)
Million Parsec Starers (Makes angry creatures back away)
Toolseyes (Hammerhead Shark eyes, gives your creature an edge against bodytype abilities)
Cephalopticus (Octopus eyes, gives your creature an edge against bodytype abilities)
Abyss Eyes:
Flashleyet (extra vision at night, or in dark areas, opposite in light)
Chameyeleons (Allows you to see more in all directions, and spoils ambushes)
Angleroptics (Gives bioluminescense more of a punch)
Skeleteye (1 Defense, allows you to go farther, hit harder, and go faster while charging, but you have no vision during said event)
Reef Eyes:
Prawnpeepers (Gives you good vision while at the surface of the water (whales and sea mammals have to do this, but crustaceans/bottom feeders can go on land before a blue meter runs out)
Coreyes (Gives you good vision if you are stuck to the ocean floor)
Icthyoptical Illusion! (Gives you more of a pow when bioluminescense is used in the light)
Fishers (Just eyes, they look good on any fish)
Coast Eyes:
(All cell eyes)
Sharkers (Shark-like eyes)
Sealers (look good on Aquatic mammal creatures)
Bioluminescense:
Social Biolum.
Hooklight:
2 Shine Charm (Adds power to Charm)
1 Shine Stun (surprises creatures)
Disco Spots:
3 Shine Charm
1 Shine Stun
Supercalifragilistic Lightshow:
4 Shine Charm
2 Shine Stun
Spode's Fires (Your critter GLOWS with plasma radiating from it):
5 Shine Charm
3 Shine Stun
Attack Biolum.
Baitlight:
1 Shine Charm
2 Shine Stun
Laser Swirl:
1 Shine Charm
3 Shine Stun
Mozapiac (pronounced like mosaic, but with zap inbetween):
3 Shine Stun
4 Zap (just like in cell)
Watt-the-heck?:
4 Shine Stun
5 Zap
(Elec. Parts from cell)
Noses and ears have new abilities, they can sense friends and foes from far away (in a 3D space, you can have a lot of loners, herders, and packs), or help substitute for eyes (ears make wavy outlines, noses make surreal views of the world, but makes rocks impossible to see)

Hands/Feet/Fins:
Sea Legs (get it?!):

More to come!

At its best, I would guesstimate it to be at least 30$, and would sell well.

I'll continue on this because:

That's NOT all for now, Folks!

Also, MaxisCactus should look at this. The almighty prickly one will enjoy it.

I am pretty positive noone thought of this.
Most of you have probably heard of Google sketch up.
Well, I think it would be awesome if you could import
models to full customize you creations. Or, if there is a part you want
that you can't make, you can use those, too!
This would be great fun in the building editor, for people who want to
have their factory/house/entertainment look exactly how they want.

Live thread! LIVE!

Also, on pg. 1, on the OP, wish list #6, I'd like to suggest that we're able to choose the environment our creature prefers to live in, and these are the areas that they will try to remain in whenever possible.

2. Nests should only be needed for sleeping/reproduction, or we could have the option to choose if our species stays close to the nest or roams, as well as choosing whether it will try to stick together/dislike company/not care about nonthreatening creatures.

For creatures that have already been made, you could just default these options to Any Environment, Stay within [Medium Radius], and Doesn't Care.

3. if the environmental collapse factor mentioned in the OP is implemented and possible in the creature stage, then it should also be possible for a new species to take the place of one that has gone extinct, which DOES make sense considering time in that stage is measured in eons, but the evolution time of these new species should be similar to the time it takes for the environment to collapse.

Also, the collapse should not feel like "OMG SOMEONE DIED! oops there goes another, and another, and me." It should take place because of real issues. If a carnivore goes extinct, and no other species is able to immediately take it's place (i.e. the species that caused it's extinction was probably a big competitor that just happened to win the game and take over), then the prey will be producing babies with no population control, resulting in food shortages, then their migrating to new areas, swamping the current residents, and can only be stopped if A. a lot of them starve to death, around the same time the food returns. or B. the carnivore get busy and eat most enough of them.
Alternatively, if a prey item dies, then it's predators may starve to death if they can't find another food source, and potentially kill off several species if they don't starve.
This way, the player becomes a control factor that changes how these take place, by changing his species' behaviors (environment, reproduction rate, food/water requirements, aggression) or using his avatar to directly influence other species' populations. He may choose to de-evolve, making his species weaker, more attractive food sources if his own population is the problem. Meaning he'll need a way to determine the population of his species and others.
That could be a new section of the hud, a panel that opens when you click on it, pausing the game, and shows your population, and the number of individuals of other species your species has bumped into, not their real populations, and only of the species that your species has found, showing it all as a food chain.

I also recall there being something about being able to drag your prey and manipulate the corpse- I would like to see that brought back.

if you think Spore could be much better, support the CAMPAIGN TO MAKE SPORE BETTER!
an open compilation of player´s suggestions to make Spore as great as it can be with a Spore SuperPack!

These are not my ideas:

Gaining Parts

1) New 'Parts' become available the more you use them. Create a creature that primarily uses jaw/mouth, you start opening up the more specialized jaw/mouth pieces. This is already partially modeled, in that you are more likely to get the level-upped parts you currently have, but there is still a lot of chance involved. I've had multiple games where I max out a different line of feet or hands than the line I'm using. This means if you spend two hours clawing and eating everything you encounter, you probably won't evolve a bunny tail.

2) Allow pack mates to have slightly different stats. One pack mate might be quicker, but less tough. Do a little more damage, but not quite as smart. Allow the player to switch between the pack members. If the player spends the most time using the slow and tough animal, armor builds are opened, but fewer speed builds appear.

3) Parts are not universal. Did your planet not spawn any insect creatures? That's an awesome random factor. I guess I'll have to wait for the space stage and gain Genetic Engineering before I can get dragonfly wings. This could so easily be implemented with the current code. Even if still only using the 'Fight or Dance' options, you can only Gnaw or Electric Slide into parts the target creature actually has. This is how the Cell stage works, why not Creature? This would actually increase strategic evolution. Perhaps the only creature on my continent with a Health 5 part kicks my SPORE. I'll have to evolve up my own arsenal, or start evolving social parts and go that route. As it currently stands, I just eat skeletons and eventually get every part.

Non-Linear Generations

1) Make DNA a non-refundable resource. If you build a Lobster, then decide you want to build an ape, you can't just sell off all your parts and make an entirely new model. Instead, you slowly start saving up for the new stuff. This should make specialization more common than the 'Badger from a Sea-Urchin' syndrome.

2) Keep DNA, but only allow one-step changes per mating cycle. So, your Lobster mates once, downgrades Level 4 Claws to Level 3. Cross-grades his level one crustacean feet to Level 1 primate. Of course, this requires a more robust mating game to make the process valuable.

3) Price per Distance. Have it actually cost less DNA to move from Level 3 insect feet to level 4, than it does to move from Level 3 insect, to Level 1 primate.

4) Track Evolutionary Time. Maybe a Lobster to a Crab advances your Evolutionary Clock by 15 Billion years, while a Lobster to a Lemur takes 150 Billion years. The speed in which your creature evolves into space determines the status of other Species and other Spacefaring Empires. Take a long, long time - and other species will have developed the more advanced parts, while other Empires will be larger, more well-established. Speed Demon through the level, and you can gain a head start on corning the Defenseless Herbivore or Purple spice markets.

Robust Stage Abilities

Probably the most disappointing aspect for me is the fact that your progress through the various stages of evolution (Cell, Creature, etc.) is simply a three stage (Red, Blue or Green) bar graph in which you control the Y Axis.

Make actual stage abilities determined by your specific tactics.

Did you create a furred snake that hunts primarily by sneaking into a nest and eating eggs while the mother is sleeping? In the Tribal Phase, you get the ability to stealth for a short time, either ambushing other tribe's gatherers, allowing your babies to hide when threatened by wild animals, or the ability to send a scout into an enemy's camp to easier steal food or kill off an unprotected child. In the Civ phase, use an agent to set off a terrorist device in an enemy's cities. In the space, earlier/cheaper access to the Cloaking Device, or less of a negative effect on relationship when you steal an artifact from another Empire's planet.

These are mine:
One problem is that no creatures seem to want to evolve (in the way that you do). Cells and cities are the only ones that seem to wish to actually make progress. Creatures mostly stay at nests and tribes only hate you. In civilization, there is actually a shared goal: domination. Also, like people said, how about more archtypes? Maybe how you played in the other stages (not just agressive/friendly) gives you logical abilities.
Anther idea: designate planets as forest, ocean, desert, ect. and do the same with creatures. I'm sick of the: This much atmosphere is perfect, this is too cold, this is to hot, blah blah blah. Do the same with ocean life ie., abyssal, open ocean, beach, pond, river, swamp,... the list goes on.
How about starting the game on gas giants? Right now, they are just taking up space in many solar systems. This is stuff that is perfect for expansion packs, or even a new game! Have things in the upper skies, the oceans, the ground.
Also, why do we have to be friendly to our own spieces? Maybe designate creatures as a loner, or canibalistic.
More variety in the parts, or let us make our own! I am tired of needing to have a T. Rex mouth for the best sing for a carnivore, or a radial mouth for the best bite of an omnivore. There are millions of improvements to make the game realistic, and more fun, and I strongly sugest that Maxis take a look at the begining of this forum thread.

I am a practical atheist. I do not believe that there is a scientific need for a god. Science explains things just fine. If you agree, copy-paste this into your sig.

To add to my previous statement, maybe editing the t-score meter. No, that isn't a low atmosphere t1 planet, that's the perfect desert, ect. A desert (low atmosphere) would be more sutable for creatures marked (not tagged, see previous comment) for that style of planet. A beach planet (high atmosphere and tepmerature) would be better for beach life creatures, ect. NOTE: This is intended to expand the t-score meter, not divide it.

No more standardized size. I am so sick of creatures that are made absolutely huge or small in the creature creator being roughly the same size as every other creature in the game.

Upgrades in cell
upgrades to part like spike to spikeball, electric to zap wave, poison to poison skin, jet to water rocket, flagella to propeller, and so on
more diets
there should be another part of cell stage(well really every stage) you can choose to be a parasite if you are a carnivore or you could be part geovore(you can eat rocks but there not as filling and you cant just eat rocks)
paracites (optional)
if youre a parasite you can go to creature and all other stages by completely infecting something. It would look different and if its name was george it would then be george(infected).the other members of its species would notice if you dont infect it quick enough. you wouldn't be able to evolve though, because the creature is dead. you can change youre species if youre next to it and hit a button or if you die(kinda hard because youre already dead). if you die you have to choose between creatures that just come out of cell stage.
parasites have different parts like darts,(smaller spikes that you shoot. upgrades to poison darts(spreds to other cells ))transformers,(inject into a cell and it turns to one of you. upgrades to doubler(does the same thing but makes two of you))and suckers(sucks something then shoots it at whats infront. upgrades to blaster(same thing but shoots farther, faster, and stronger.
Parasite stage(optional)
pretty much cell stage but you are timed and you have to destroy the cells that make up the other creature
