People don't like getting ripped off by false advertising.

Ghadis, I agree with your point that customers should be aware of the fact that there are several problems with Spore. Many of which have been pointed out to the developers over the last month and a half, but the last two weeks the comments have gone from being negative and constructive to personal and spiteful.

In that light, I'd wish everyone would keep in mind mflux's forum post with that cartoon he posted a few days ago: At the end of the day, you're still talking to people on the other side of a monitor. I just wish people would consider that more often than not.

Game stores in general are having tough times. Combine a crappy economy with a well-deserved reputation for crappy customer service, and you have many more people either just pirating games or buying them online.

If a game doesn't come out on Steam or Impulse, then I preorder it from Amazon.com. That's just the way it works. In all cases, I don't have to pay sales tax or shipping and the customer service is far better than going to the local Gamestop and being prodded to buy a magazine subscription.

You assume I live in a country that has adopted online transactions.
Oh we have them, but its only the last solution.
Seeing the boxes in the store means a lot where I live.

Look we all know this is the internet.
And everybody can shout and scream all they want.

Naa, skip being pollite I'll call it.

Every single one of the postsers here that are pro current Spore and write in caps are fanboyz.
I have read every single post they have made and they are nothing more then fanboyz.

There is nothing worse for the future of a product then a fanboy.
You all seem to think we are trying to take away Spore from you.

The situation hasn't changed.
They promised A and delivered D.

A lot of proof out there by now.
Mac and Pc launches on the same day = O ow....
Features being cut now again implemented in the next expansion = O ow....
The list goes on and on and on.

I don't care about how you feel that all of us appear like trolls to you.
I want what was promised to me.
I want the game that was advertised that simple. EA/Maxis has pulled one of the biggest con's of late and are getting away with it. All this, give it a rest it is what is , is only giving them more power.
Sure, I love Spore. But trust me, my love has nothing to do with this game.

Stop being an enabler.

I assume nothing. I'm saying that's the way it is, in my own experience.

I've only purchased one game from D2D, and found that approach to be clunkier than Steam and Impulse. Spore I ordered from Amazon.com, despite the negative reviews, cuz the vast majority of them were written by people that had never played the game. I disregard reviews written by people that don't actually own the product just out of principle. "They don't have it, what do they know?" I used to have the local Gamestop and EB on my cellphone's speed dial, so that I could call for availability and/or to reserve a game. Not anymore. Local purchases from game stores are my "last resort" cuz those places are literally a self-fulfilling prophecy of destruction. They treat their customers like garbage such that nobody wants to shop there, making them all the more desperate to make a sale.

Stores like Wal-Mart and Target don't even get consideration cuz years after the game's been out and bargain-binned at the local game shops, they still charge full MSRP.

I am geussing you live in America? or the UK? Seeing you online, has me confused about the timezone.

Different worlds mate
But wasn't my intention to argue about it.
Just wanted to tell you guys that the shelves were full of Spore copies and that it means something where I live.
We are seeing a similar situation as with Tabula Rasa.

No intention to argue here either. Just my own observations.

Pacific timezone here, but I'm on a multiphasic sleep schedule (IOW, "no schedule at all").

I understand what you're getting at, and I figure if Amazon's already dropping Spore's price that it can't be selling that well here either.

Sorry to say you're wrong about the fan boy thing. And don't call it a con; stuff was cut after it was promised, which is supposed to be taken with an apology. I supported Spore, but it's not my favorite thing in the world. I think it's cool, but that's about it. What bothers me is how people are re-stating the same complaints they've made in several other threads. The repetitiveness is getting to me. Since everything anyone has said on either side has gotten nowhere, I think everyone should just stop complaining in general. I come to this forum to talk about Spore, not complain.

note to others: thread and forum are different things.

Sometimes I think it would be cool if dragons were real. Then I think: they're giant fire breathing lizards that can fly with skin like armor. And they're carnivores. We're perfectly fine without them.

I come to this forum to raise awareness on the evils of SecuROM, boycotts, and general information relating to EA that can be used as further references to encourage people to join our petitions, boycotts and referendum attempts.

I rarely engage the enablers; and even if I do, they get whimsical single sentence responses merely because they're not the ones I'm calling out.

I thank them for keeping my threads bumped though. I also appreciate their position. Nobody likes to hear their favorite game being insulted. Of course, I sit and wait patiently for the time when SecuROM's licensing afflicts them...

It's only a matter of time before they see this error:

It's only a matter of time before they go through what I did, chronicled in this thread:

http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/6800.page

And when they're forced to go through the same things I did, just to be able to play Spore. I know they'll join us in our crusade.

Don't worry though. I'll still be here, raising awareness, starting petitions, reminding people of the evil entity that is Electronic Arts... sitting and waiting to embrace the people who once argued and insulted me as brothers in arms in the fight against SecuROM and EA.

Thats why I'll never really argue with the enablers. It's only a matter of time before they're on my side.

This sound strangely like a complaint for some reason. But I can't quite put my finger on it . . .
Anyway, they can't change SecuROM in a wink. Just be patient.

Patience can't be afforded. If you'd kindly read my thread on what I had to go through to get extra licenses to be able to play Spore; you'd understand why this is such a big deal.
