I just find it amusing that 1.05 went from "Oooo, asymmetry!" to "I want my money back" in just 6 hours.

hahaha
i'm still in the "Oooo, asymmetry" stage right now cause it loads my GA in a shorter time

Yep. Me too.

I traded asymetry which I could already do with a mod, for the ability to rotate objects in GA on water.

Yay patch 5!
>_>

(So much for the pirate ship mission I was going to make)

• Feature: All building and vehicle textures available in building/vehicle/ufo editors without having to use the "paint like" button.
• Asymetry: on the click of an "a"... and best one ever.
• Cheat is included that permits Creators to export creatures in Collada format for use in Maya. Creators must acknowledge and accept a Tools EULA to perform this operation. An additional cheat has been provided to enable highest quality textures to appear on vehicles, where it is supported by user hardware.
• And more!

Bows and thanks, Maxis team... A job well done, and some really awesome "hug the programer" extras.

1.05 is much more resistant to crashes and lagging. It also allows spore to load almost infinitely faster than before.

Thank you, Maxis (and EA) for listening to your customers/fans, now none of those jerks who say, "Don't bother, they never listen," have no ground on which to oppose you in that way, but most of all, we know you listen now!!! Go Maxis and EA!!! Keep rocking!

Is there any way to reinstall the patch? For some reason, none of the features that you have mentioned in this thread or on spore.com have taken effect in my game. If anyone else has had this problem, could you tell me how you fixed it if you were able to fix it please???

90% of teens today would die if Myspace had a system failure and was completely destroyed.
If you are one of the 10% that would be laughing, copy and paste this to your signature.

while at the same time making it impossible to play Galactic Adventures. Added speed is useless is 75% of the missions don't work anymore and need to be avoided if there's any hope of getting things back to normal.

Agreed! I'm so frustrated, hearing about all of these revolutions and not having access to them!

Yes! The asy... asy... Whatever it is is great, and I'm glad we can finally put stuff on vehicles. I see a lot of intense vehicle-riding battles coming...

Would you rather have an editor that crashes without warning *i.e 1.04* or an editor that almost never crashes *1.06*.

Most of the fixes and new additions are much appreciated.

The fixed objects and buiildings rotation over and in water glitch is a problem I'm sure will be addressed in the (near, please?) future. I've found the objects can be rotated over water by 90 degrees if the correct ring is used, but only to the parallel to the surface. It can be spun once it is parallel.

One new (to me anyway) glitch is that when you epicize a creature its feet noticeably do not touch the ground. So your T. rex will float in the air now. So if you want a large creature you'll have to make it as large as you can in the creature editor.

Just some more stuff for the next patch, Maxis Spore Team.

Thanks

The problem is that most people don't have or can afford to get Maya. And I really don't want to get into pirating it. It's possible to import it into Blender, but getting Blender to open .dae files is a painful and tedious process. Any chance of exporting in other formats like 3ds or Blender's own format with a mod from Maxis?

Oh man I feel your pain. I'm a Blender man, because I'm a poor student who has a moral objection to piracy However, I've never found .dae 1.4.1 import in blender being a painful and tedious process, but it seems this is .dae 1.5, and it is the perfect format for Maxis to use because it's royalty free. I'm trying to figure out a fix for those of us who like free software which I'll post later today, but if anyone is faster than me I was going to see if the Autodesk FBX converter (www.autodesk.com/fbx) converts from .dae to .fbx, because then you could use it to convert .fbx to .3ds

*crosses fingers*
