Spore Creature Archtypes Info

Just not worth a screen shot, its not pretty at all, just text.

Description
A practical app rather than pretty submit a creatures spore id, or choose from the latest 25 from a typed in user name and the app will show you which creature archtypes the creature meets the requirments for and why it fails the requirements for the other archtypes.

Spore API

Used the Unoffical PHP Spore-API Class
Used the Assets for Creature REST feed.
Used the Assets for User REST feed.

The link of the button "Try it Out" is wrong and it points to another App (The Creation Viewer).


Latest news:
SPOREWARS will be a set of little videogames linked in "chapters".
Chapter 1 is the app already known: You have to discover all twin creatures living in planets.
Chapter 2: have you already discovered all planets? Now you have to land on a planet!
Move your spaceship, point to the surface of the planet until the altitude goes to zero...
...but keep away from enemy spaceships!

...Next Chapters will involve activities on the surface of the planet, once landed...

So, the URL pointing to SPOREWARS will present all available Chapters and you can choose them in sequence (like a story) or not (this new URL is not ready yet).

An alpha(!) version of Chapter 2 is here:

I added a new option to Spore Badges to turn creation names on or off for the creation badge. As with every update I will make, existing signatures are unaffected unless you change the option on the site and then add the new image URL in your signature. I also changed some stuff behind-the-scenes to make creation badges load faster and use less of my bandwidth fetching images from the Sporepedia. More features should be coming soon...

Achievement Checklist

Description:
Allows you to enter any Spore username and see a checklist of the achievements earned, and those yet earned in an easily visible manner.

Notes:
I actually wrote this before the API became available. Initially it parsed the data out of the actual website, which was ugly and inefficient. The first release of the API didn't have achievement info, so I left it as it was. Now that there is achievement info available, I went ahead and upgraded the script to use it.

Great stuff NecroBones.
That's clean, neat and useful.

It's very cool to see all you guys extending and improving your apps.
I love the "episodic content" for SporeWars.

The archetype viewer is something very powerful.
I would love to have a "compatibility" meter for each Sporecast/Creature out there showing how gameplay-friendly it is. It of course need not be gameplay friendly at all, but I'm sure there are creators out there who would strive for high points on that metric.

Excellent work all... keep the apps and the feedback coming.

Thanks for that Necro... Now I know how borked are my achievments, lots missing I should have gotten. My suggestion would be to display them on a more rational order, based on the stages/editors/features they are awarded, insted of the usual "all mixed" one. Good job.

My idea is to develop a sort of "book", with litte games representing the steps of the adventure.
Each episode is linked to the previous ones.

Now it is quite ready the third chapter...

Now your best personal scores are saved, but in future I want to collect the "world best score for each chapter".

My next steps will be to use some 3D processing and to use what happened in one chapter to change next chapters (i.e. if in a chapter you make a decision, that influences next chapter, like a "video-game-book").

Thanks for the comments.

I've upgraded the Achievement Checklist to group the achievements based on category, and made it a little nicer visually.

It's still flexible enough that when new achievements are added with the next expansion, as long as the API includes them, they should just show up here. It'll put them in the General category until I categorize them.

Hi, all.

The third chapter of Sporewars is online.

In the first chapter ("Discover") you discovered all creatures living in the solar system.
In the second chapter ("Landing") you landed on one of the planets of this solar system.
Landing was not easy, and now your vehicle is broken.
In this new chapter ("Broken vehicle") you must compose your vehicle, but there is another problem. Where is the light?! You landed in the dark...
But if you want to explore the planet you need your vehicle!

I hold the universe best for number 1! And 3! You cheated in 2, didn't you, that's the time it would take if you didn't move, and thus you would HAVE to have been captured.

Not me, but I've seen the same "strange" record too.

...someone else cheated.

I just reset it and finished a real game and now the record (1' 7'') is true (and mine).


Are there people interested in cheating even for these little games?
Ok, should I protect even for these little games?!?

I'm not sure if it was just beginners luck, but I kinda just beat your score (got it in 19 steps).
EDIT: Oh well, that didn't last long, seems somebody's already beat my Chapter 1 score by a step.

@RifoItaly: Is SPOREWARS supposed to work with Safari? Because I had to use Firefox to play it (only tried the first chapter so far though).

I supposed my first 3 chapters were too easy (and the upcoming 4th one - the first one in 3D - should be more difficult...).
Ok, I will add some level selection (easy/normal/hero...)
I need to reimplement record saving too (with levels).

@dragoonreas:
I tryed the chapters with IE, FF and Safari and registered no problems yet.
If you can't start a chapter with a particular browser, try to clean java/applet cache (may be the first attempt to download the appled failed and now you have it in your cache)
