What is going on at EA ? ? ?- where is a Will Wright statement ???

Did I miss something or is there still NO official reply to all the complaints over spore ?

Apart from the small note on DRM in mid september and strange interviews with EA management on stockrates, there is not a peep of Will nor any Maxis/EA official.

Having given up on playing spore the way it is, I wont be buying the parts pack and will be waiting for someone to RESPOND if I was ever to open my wallet again for an EA product. I know I am an individual only, yet a customer.

What happened to the feedback/Q&A list btw ?

IT is SO annoying!!!

PS: this is the third topic of this kind (of mine) which kinda speaks for itself in regard to satisfactory replies.

I remember there was a sticky for a while saying that the questions were submitted to the team but it got unsticked cause we would be up into our armpits with stickies if we kept them all around Ill see if i can find it for you. ... EDIT: Found it check on page 2 for a link!

As to the official statement I doubt we ever get one that we really want the only thing I see us getting maybe is a "What's coming up in the next patch/part pack/(insert random marketing term here)/expansion announcements"

Last I knew it was unstickied.. I'm not sure if its actually still here on this forum.. have not checked.. Though, when it happened, I took that as a good sign.. cause I thought maybe some questions were going to be actually answered, as I remember someone saying they were submitted.

Been quite a while since then.... .. quite a while.. I, for one, am getting quite antsy.... waiting.... for some simple answers... to some good questions..

Personally I have almost never seen game designers like Will Wright, Peter Molyneux or Sid Meyer officially respond to game issues or post on forums; even before or after their games releases. They design the games - they do not address the issues directly - that is EA/Maxis' job.

They do however take note of the issues and usually address them in subsequent releases of the game, if there is any. They do address some of the issues via interviews, articles and trade shows.

Though it is not entirely impossible, I think you have high hopes if you think Will will release a statement about the issues in Spore.

I can't help myself... I know a gazillion people have said it already...

It would be really great if they would just have a thread that says something like:

"Here's a list of the problems we're working on:

[insert list here]"

They could even go so far as to estimate when the problems look like they might be resolved, though that's probably getting way too wishful. It's almost like they think that if they don't acknowledge a particular problem, then no one can hold them responsible for fixing it at any particular point in time.

Or something. Heck, I'm just making up stuff because there is absolutely no updates on the forums from anybody at the company.

It leaves me trying to fill in the blanks. Has anyone checked their offices? Maybe something terrible happened to all of them and we're all waiting here for responses from a bunch of people who are slumped over their desks, in comas, or they've been abducted by the Grox... or maybe they have been banished and sent to Siberia. Who knows.

Even that would be adequate, at least it shows that something is getting done to the satisfaction of the users. For some reason, they choose to ignore us.. I would even love to know the reason why that his happening. I find it hard to believe that they have to remain silent about issues that do not pertain to the court case. Which of course we all know is about the drm. What about all the other issues? I may be wrong here.. but total silence is getting me nervous. And is hammering home the fact that the heart of maxis *and/or* EA is truly cold, all in my humble opinion of course.

Just any official statement would be wonderful. Will Wright saying it would be best, but a Maxis employee making the statement would be great as well. It doesn't have to be much. Even a short sentence long apology would be good, though a longer one would be excellent.

If I were Maxis, I'd give a short apology to the science community as well, as state that you'll work hard to provide something that better depicts ecosystem mechanics and the effects of different shaped creatures. There's a lot of potential for impact there.

Yes I have faith. That what you say is feasible to them. It would, after all, be the right thing to do, in my humble opinion.

Myself I would be happy if they'd just give us a road map of if there will be a third patch, if so what will be in it.

Being EA you can't really expect to many fixes and improvements to the game for free, we aren't dealing with Stardoc here.

which is a pity because EA would sell more expansions to more people if they where willing to fix and improve the base game a little for free. But that's never been the EA way.

Yeah the Q/A they offered has dropped off the planet. I'd say that they were hoping we'd forget about it, but I'd probably get 1-starred again for saying that.

Not really, it seems the 1 starring en mass has stopped.

As a mather a fact, I was thinking something similar.
