My suggestions/requests

- i want to charge my allies whenever i have to fly back to stop an ecological disaster, either in spice or sporebucks
- more things to do in tribe and civ phase
- a tech tree/upgrades in civ phase for upgraded vehicles
- building space stations to orbit your colonies and that helps with defense -- could be like a colony editor
- more tribe interaction and depth for creature phase
- the ability to sell off/close shop on a colony
- remove the activation limit, it's been 3+ years now

Patch 5 problem:
Some planets have shrunk in the icon view (in the title bar you see the planet's type and relative size) from a small circle to what appears as a dot. These planets, whenever I try to enter their atmosphere, causes the game to crash.

Patch 3 problem that was never fixed:
i have (or rather, had) two saved games (planets) really close to each other. i allied with the planet that was my other saved game. IMMEDIATELY after i allied with them a plague/eco-disaster breaks out. when i went to stop the plague I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. no laser, no teleport beam, nothing to get rid of the plague. it said "this can't be used in this system". it subsequently wiped out a better part of the planet knocking it down from a T3 with multiple cities to a T2 planet with two cities (worse still this actually affected my actual saved game). THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.

Very nice Idea.

Spore is up to originally up to 4 discs.
1.C&C: Spore creature creator starter kit (disc)
2.Spore (disc)
3.Spore Creepy & Cute expansion (disc)
4.Spore galactic adventure expansion (disc)
Note: I know what all made it to an actual retail disc. (Yes I do keep track of what comes out)
what not made it to disc?
-extended limb
-Spore botz expansion
-Darkspore parts expansion

If you can't respect me. I can not respect you. (Agreed)

Nice ideas, but they will never happen. But one thing I would like a lot is some GA glitch fixes. For instance, when I place a mountain range it gets all choppy when I am far away from it. That needs to be fixed, but it won't. So I'll stop complaining.

We all know it will never happen for gods sake! Ideas are to improve the game. Not to complain!!!

I agree it should be added it like the rest of everyone else's ideas as well.

See it all would improve spore a lot better and less boring to most people.

Its just that most people just don't want to take the time in making spore better like EA/maxis for instance, just ignoring the community and doing what they want, because they can get away with it.

Easy way is to upgrade your vehicles is go into your city planner and go to vehicle tab and change your vehicle with higher states with higher weapons on the newer version of your vehicle.

I agree with luckygreentigers observations , also I would add that I would like to see the opprotunity for an expansion that allows for Aquatic creature creation. In essence that creatures would not have to evolve on land but just continue to evolve in the water. This evolution would give the civilizations different settlemen options.
I am not convinced that they wont do it. To suggest such things to Maxis is to allow them to see a new way to make money through expansion packs.
I would like to have a greater choice in how I set up a settlement / colony. Perhaps a choice of settlement footprints.
To anyone, I have made comments as I evolved the my creatures, are these comments posted anywhere?

Your comments should show up in the sporepedia online on the creature for which the comment was made. I don't see them on the few creations show on http://www.spore.com/view/myspore/Johanus and I'm not sure why. Maybe need more information.

I'm going to guess "aquatic stage" and ongoing ability to play underwater is the single most-requested extension.

You have to understand that the code as it exists now doesn't support current machine processor architectures and to change that part of the core libraries means testing the entire application. EA tends to drop automated testing in the crunch, so likely a whole new test suite would need to be written.

To make extensions to the current codebase is not good husbandry on EA's part. But that doesn't mean there won't be later rewrites of spore, or perhaps smaller versions that simply allow one to play different scenarios, like underwater.

That would make sense in support of company direction.

I also get that Crashing and yet I have all the patches ( even 1.6) but I still get crashes. It maybe because I have a old computer ( it's a custum built Windows XP)but I still get the same problums as you so it may be the game.

If your system parameters are within those listed for the game, your drivers and the OS are all updated, you are saving periodically and your machine is not overheating or otherwise failing, just running XP is not a problem. In point of fact, Spore runs quite well on XP, Vista or 7. I have it running on all of those operating systems right now, including the 64 bit versions.

One of the problems with XP is it's not really being supported now, since it's really a single processor architecture and every day there are fewer machines out there with dual or fewer processors.

Spore, like XP was intended to run on single processor machines, so there's no conflict there. I'm not sure how extensively the patches were all tested on XP, but given the time frame I'd guess they should have been.

There are quite a few factors to check before one can say where the problem lies. I recommend you post in the HELP section, and also that before you do, you read the sticky in that section titled something like "before you post".

Most of the problems with SPore have been encountered by multiple persons and in the course of the last few years there are fixes for almost all of them. Some will require you to do some detective work, or change the way you launch the game, but don't write off the game and your OS at this point.

There are some people who post here who like to blame the game code entirely, or to blame the developers, without taking responsibility to look into possible solutions. I DO NOT MEAN YOU. I just don't want you to be mislead by that sort of commentary. With the exception of some specific bugs, and changes made to the way the server connectivity is maintained, Spore is pretty stable.

Do yourself a favour and look in the help section.

Depends on what it's worth to you.

I have right around 16, not including the ones that are part of the blade server, because they are all one colony animal LOL

Many of my machines are old "classics", ones I wanted badly when they came out, but cost about the same as a house then, like my GRiD machines. They were military spec, the first clamshell laptops, and just rocked then... They also put out the first slate with no integrated keyboard. So I have a few of those, mostly ex-NASA machines.

Got a few other classics, a Lisa, an Amiga, and that first compaq portable machine that weighs about 45 lbs. from the early 80's.

I've also got a couple of current Vaio and Toshiba laptops that I use for coding and web access, a Motion Computing slate tablet I use for accessibility and help with my Aspergers, and some dedicated old machines, like my Fujitsu C-Series that I use to connect to my Newtons, and the old Compaq Armada that runs my DOS games.

I have access to quite a few mainframes and did install Spore on an emulator on an IBM z-series mainframe a few years back. I also installed GA, which tied the animation to cycles instead of wall time, and it runs so fast everything is a blur. LOL

I like machines. I constantly have to tell myself that I don't need another Twinhead...
